I site mailed him regularly when I first started and he ALWAYS gave good solid answers and explanations.

He quit after being banned from the forums. He crossed the line several times in the HD forums and finally got the hammer after several warnings.

He quit because of some dispute over how to handle a Hardball Dynasty issue; he thought Admin was not properly recognizing the impact that late-season activities by a current manager have on the next season.

So in other words, new Admin didn't accept Mike's ultimate authority on all things HBD, so he took his ball and went home.

Good riddance. The site is better off without him.

That might be the one thing that could cause a sizeable exodus of long-term HBD players. Censorship ain't cool.

The damage he did to HBD's growth back when it was growing and then more or less stable is as much the reason HBD is where it is today as anything owners of WIS did or did not do.

I doubt many are left who recall how he and a team of other trolls (who blindly followed his lead) used to target and harass people until they quit. Or threaten they would quit all their worlds if they didn't get their way.

He drove a lot of people away from HBD. That WIS ownership let him rule the forum and heap abuse is the reason I stopped recommending the game. He was poison.

His trolling and WIS decision to let him do it are both to blame. I can't blame one more than the other. That was the team that defined the HBD experience for anyone who ever checked out the forum.

He mellowed as the years went by. In part because fewer new people started playing HBD and the forums got less active. Fewer people for him to troll. And his sycophants mostly dropped out of the game. I'm sure they are all happily trolling other forums today.

He migrated to the HD forums and annoyed those there after a while.

MikeT23 was an excellent mentor. The two things he couldn't put up with were Tanking, and people who misrepresented their knowledge to deliberately mislead new players.

I didn't play HBD for a long, long time because I read all the forums beforehand and could see that HBD was full of unsportsmanlike jerks. Reading enough, I realized he was the one guy who wouldn't lie to me.

However, he probably spent too much time in these forums on useless online fights.

So Mike is the very reason for the demise of HBD, but you want to know what site he's playing on now? Interesting.

Nailed it. Mike and I couldn't stand each other and butted heads in the forums many times. I joined a new world that happened to be the one they'd selected for their next Tard World Challenge. He immediately messaged me like we were best buds and asked about trading for my star pitcher. I told him I wouldn't be trading with him, period. He then told the commish that he and his six friends would leave if the commish didn't kick me out of the world, which the spineless commish then did.

Mike was a cancer. He was the self-appointed godfather of these forums and for some reason, so many bought into it and continued to puff him up. I'm surprised his big head was able to fit through the door when he finally left.
