Not how I understand it - guy at turn gets 3 picks - seems a little much to me - but again I like those types of twists - I’m just trying to understand logic - has nothing to do with my team - I don’t care

The order isn't flipped at the back...it alternates. The rounds go... A B B A B A B A B A
However, they do double up on the picks in the last two rounds because ...
1) makes the draft finish quicker
2) the picks in rounds 9 and 10 aren't as significant and doubtfully will have much impact on your teams success.

Right I get the efficiency aspect - makes sense; just wondering about the turn at round 8 - getting 2 straight picks in 9 and 10. Again - more curious then anything - I’m not worried about how it affects my draft.

Let the draft proceed without my interference!!! Good luck all!!

Yeah, but then he gets the 2 last picks of the draft for his 11th and 12th

any A B A B alternating draft will have 2 straight picks by the 1 and 24 spots at every turn because it will always be 1-24, then 24-1, then 1-24, then 24-1.
You have a good team goetz. I see you battling between the 2 and 3 spot in your division.

Gotcha - no worries - makes sense

The first 4 rounds are ABBA to even the odds...the #1 player is usually quite a bit better than the twenty-fouth and the twenty-fifth player is usually much better that 48th player. So the 1st + 48th = 24+25th...the rest of the draft is alternating order. Yes 24th gets 3 picks at the 8th round turn, but the 1st pick gets 4 picks at the 9 round turn. Empirical this seem to balance the league wrt team quality...otherwise the top 4 or 5 owners, in the draft, win most of the chips.

Note - if you set your forum window to "all"...you can look at all the DDL drafts and champions.

The DDL was meant to be tough and the designer hates salary caps. So instead the talent pool was capped by using a 10 year pool. This give each era it's own distinct character and rewards those that can deal with liabilities. All that bumm smokey57 brought was the idea of using a 10 year player pool and no salary cap...the rest was hammered out by voting. In short the league was designed by the owners who played in it.
