GDP for the 2nd quarter is coming out tomorrow. Most "experts" are predicting 3-4% or more growth.

Can we all just agree that this would never happen with the high taxing, and hyper-regulating Democratic Party in charge? They handcuffed the economy for 8 years, now we can see the difference when you let the reigns of the free market loose.

Please vote Republican in November. We do not want the economy to go back to the Democratic Party's malaise.

Some people care about things that aren't the economy. The economy isn't super high on my priorities list. It's fine if it is high on yours.

I don't think the Dems are as bad as you say, but OK.
Most elections are won based on the economy. That is generally the primary factor/driver. If good the party holds if bad the party loses. Typically.
So Bill Clinton was a great president? Look I understand that I just disagree that the difference is so great that we need to sacrifice many other values just for the economy.
Actually I was pro Bill. He spoke at my graduation. I used to be a lefty like you.

Comrade,

Your lack of self-awareness borders on hysterical at times.
I get it man. I do. I am super self righteous. I am aware of that. But whatever I type here I say to your face 100%. I still would like to get your opinion on how this country comes together when the political views are so far apart now.
It's come back from bigger rifts before. Living in the moment makes it seem worse than it is.
You think? I honestly cannot seem to remember a worse time. With social media and stuff. I mean we are at each others throats.
Civil War was pretty ******.
Yeah, I mean modern history. Since WWII. Well played.
Vietnam? Jim Crow?
I wasn't around then? Was it worse between parties or just pro peace advocates and war mongers?

During Jim Crow I think like 80% was pro civil rights? No? Just a piece of the racist South was against it.

I could be wrong. Of course.
From what I have read (obviously I wasn't around) and from what my parents told me the country was pretty divided. People like you are warmongers. Way more of YOU in the world than necessary.

Which side do you want to be on?

I want to be on the side of carry a big stick so that you don't have to use it.
What's the point of carrying a big stick if we aren't going to use it? Remember that I STILL support the USA having the strongest military budget in the world by a good margin. We can cut it by 200 billion dollars and still TRIPLE China's spending.
Because if you don't then you may have to. As I explained the military creates a lot of jobs and innovation. Given the uncertainty in the world with Russia, China and Islam I'd rather spend more now than less. I am not saying we should have mandatory service like they do in Israel just that we continue to invest in the latest and greatest.
7/26/2018 2:11 PM
How many jobs are we talking? Like what's the ratio of spending to jobs? I would wager that it's pretty low.

Again I cannot stress this enough ABOUT HALF THE WORLD'S MILITARY SPENDING COMES FROM US. We spend more income on our military than any other country in the world. Does that make you prideful? It doesn't make me prideful. It makes me ashamed.
7/26/2018 2:15 PM
And do we have proof that more spending means less chance of being attacked? Didn't we already test this in Iraq? What am I missing here?

Oh OK. Nevermind. It's funny because CCCP has been hating on BDS for a long time so it would have been hilarious for someone with BDS in their name to just pop up :)
I already asked him. LOL.

Hey man, you know where I stand on that. I am anti BDS and you're pro BDS.
I understand. I’m not for everyone. XD

There are valid reasons to vote Republican. There are no valid reasons to vote for Trump.
There was one great reason to vote for Trump, and that's all many people needed - HRC.

look, I thought about it for exactly that reason. ultimately, I decided the risk was too great. We drew a terrible hand. Some people decided to go all in. I decided to hedge and wait for someone a lot less risky. Everyone wants Bill Belichick, but sometimes Todd Bowles is what you get, and you have to be cool with that.

i loathe the Clintons, but Donald John Trump is full of crap. He always has been, and he always will be. He hated Hillary so much that he invited her to his wedding. She hates racists so much that she went to the wedding. There’s an element of farce to the entire proceedings.

that’s why it is imperative that we have a substantial third party. until then, I held my nose and voted for Hillary. I figured we might get her to cave to public pressure. Oh well.

HRC was a reason to vote for Trump. Not sure I'd call her a great reason. Voting for what you perceive to be the lesser of two evils is not a good reason for voting. A good reason to vote for Trump would be if you agree with what he stands for, not because you disagree with what his opponent stands for.

Really? That's nice. And you were anti Bush right? But Obama made you hate the Dems?
I was anti Bush. Yeah. I was a moderate and actually while I didn't vote for him, I thought it was good for the country that BHO won. I didn't really agree with his policies and my priorities changed a bit as I had kids, more bills, etc. I thought (rightly or wrongly) he was very divisive and really anti Israel, which as you know is a hot button for me. I didn't like that he kept interest rates artificially low, resulting in an inflated stock market. I also thought he over regulated and his sequester was bleh. I was really hopeful he would address entitlements and he didn't. Lastly, I was hopeful he would either nationalize healthcare or create more competition. Instead the ACA was messy.

Again, rightly or wrongly I didn't like him and this time it was not just me but my family that it impacted. That being said I didn't like how the Dems ran their election and basically in my opinion pushed Sanders aside via the super delegates. I also didn't like how HRC called Trump supporters deplorables and irredeemables. Lastly, I didn't like that Palestinian Flag at the DNC. After seeing that I decided I could never vote Blue again (rightly or wrongly).

So far I like what Trump has done as my primary hot buttons were lower regulations/lower corp. taxes; stronger military; full support of Israel and denouncement of Iran; stronger immigration policies.

What really made me lean even more to the right is the people stating that if someone supports Trump they must be racist. I find that train of thought ridiculous. I also think the far left has gone off the deep end in terms of limiting free speech if they find it offensive. Lastly, I think the media and the universities have really gone Leftist too. So now I am leaning more to the Right for sure.

My dad, who was a strong supporter and donor to the Dem party has gone to the very right. He is 100% Fox News, Trump, etc. Thinks the Dems betrayed him. That perception is his reality. As I explained to you I listen to many voices, both conservative and liberal. I enjoy them equally. I favor Ben to a certain extent but Sam Harris as well. Eric Weinstein is really bright and very well spoken and logical. As is Jordan Peterson.

Neither. It is necessary. It creates jobs and innovation and prevents wars. Lockheed Martin alone generated 36 billion in revenue. They have 126k employees. I believe they have over 2000 subcontractors. That is just one company. There are many others such as MITRE. I think the # would shock you but I just don't feel like researching it.

You’d pay to debate me???

you get your *** kicked here for free all the time, why would you pay for it?
Do I? You'd never say that to my face so STFU, you sissy keyboard warrior. Opinions vary, those that agree with me like strikeout, all3 and Doug say I kick your *** all the time. You have what tang on your side? The dude you called an "idiot" multiple times. Other than that you have Taint. Math works in my favor it seems. Even wylie, a fellow liberal cannot stand you.

Difference between you and me is that I would say that stuff to your face, old man. You'd cower.
what happen to that civility you were talking about, dude? Funny, for someone who says we need to be civil, you call people names on here more than just about anyone.
Also, I am not a liberal, despite what you think.
And I never said I can't stand bad_luck. He's not one of my favorite posters on whatever this site is called now, but I don't know him well enough to not stand him.
Civility to everyone sans bad luck. He can go pound sand. I'll say it for you. I cannot stand that fool.
I don't give a **** about civility. You are a legitimately stupid person. That's clear from the things you write and from the fact that you support Trump.
you should give a **** about civility. I don't think cccp is stupid. I don't think you are stupid either (but some of the things you say I think are stupid, but that is not the same thing. You could say that about anyone who posts here - some more than others) I don't think all Trump supporters are stupid. Many have what they consider valid reasons for supporting him. Many of those reasons don't make much sense to me, but so what? Doesn't make them any less valid to those who have them.
