Treason is a crime. If it can be proven that the Russian government interfered in the presidential election, giving aid to a foreign adversary is treason. I'm not sure it matters whether he knew, especially if it can be proven that members of his campaign participated.
that said, we only have the word of the intelligence community as "evidence." that's not good enough for me. it's funny how everyone thinks they know the result of the probe before it is over. I feel like The Atlantic might know more than Mueller at this point.
I think the financial crimes end up being Trump's downfall. Conspiracy charges around the Russia stuff would be bad, but that's tough to prove absent direct evidence.
Money laundering? Tax evasion? Those are much easier to prove.
what financial crimes? the President hasn't been charged with any.
The President hasn’t been charged with anything.
this is true. he's innocent until proven guilty. that's not to say there won't be something legitimate, but there is no evidence of financial crimes by this administration related to any involvement with Russia.
A) I wouldn't expect there to be much, if any concrete evidence made public regarding financial crimes. But there are plenty of pieces of circumstantial evidence out there already.
B) The financial crimes may or may not be related to Russia, but it doesn't really matter. Crimes is crimes, yo.
