Had a 100 perimeter player to start the season, assumed he was maxed out with 0 minutes of practice went down to 99. I'm guessing he was probably at 99.7 or something like that, unless there is another explanation.

My second player was green in low post, work ethic of 90+ and with 0 minutes of practice has improved 4 points from the start of the season. Not sure I understand that one.

I thought there was a minimum number of minutes needed to maintain a rating. This was confirmed during a dev chat (I think) years ago. I have always designated four minutes to a red category except FT, which I dedicate 6 (again I think the dev chat stated FT had a higher minimum maintenance cost.) If all of this is urban legend, I've fallen for it for a looooong time.

The increase with 0 preactice minutes, I have no idea. I never 0 a green category.

Interesting. I have always dedicated 8 to red categories, except per/lp which I go down to 3.

I put 1 in red categories, they almost never go down

With playing time and high work ethic, zeroed green categories can improve, esp LP and PER.

Herbert Sharon is all “Coach, you have no shot of keeping me off the big board next year. NO SHOT.” Per has been zeroed all year, and I completely expect him to gain 5+ points at minimum in the offseason. Defense, BH, and passing have been at 7 for most of the year.

This SOB has zero points in everything and still gained about 25 points.

I always zero out the reds. Very rarely lose points.

LOL, I found the dev chat, back in 2009 and I was the one who asked selbe the question. That is ironic.

Can you please advise what is the minimum number of minutes needed in an attribute to maintain that rating once that attribute has been "maxed out." Thank you. (gomiami1972 - Hall of Famer - 1:50 PM)

Sure, assuming average work ethic and playing time, for low post and perimeter, you need to maintain 3-4 minutes and for other skills you need to maintain 7-8 minutes

Obviously, selbe changed the programming somewhere along the way if you guys are seeing no drop with 0 minutes.

Not necessarily. We’re talking about high WE guys with lots of playing time. Seble specified “average work ethic and playing time”.

I've had green attributes increase with no minutes...usually the guys where you really don't want them to increase too since it adds little and increases the EE changes.

Yeah, I almost included that in my post removed it at the last minute. Since I almost never have very high WE players, I have always followed the guidelines selbe laid out.

I have a 2 WE player who increased his PER score this season after one game, despite zero minutes of practice time in PER. I never had any ratings increase with zero PT before - was that possible before, or is this another example of one of the random weird bugs that have suddenly popped up?

my practice plan formula, for the most part:
green-15
blue-12
black-10
orange-5-8
red-4-6
I change it once during the season about midway, maybe giving more to green as other categories turn colors.

Did it go down in the off-season? Sometimes players gain back some of what they lost in the offseason after the first practice.

I'm with the guys that use 1 and 0 for red categories. I admit that I don't do it early on. If i have a freshman SF that starts at 45 red in passing, i might give 3-5 minutes the first season. But I drop it to one or zero the next season.

i think it's obvious that its more valuable if you can move 5 minutes from that passing, and put those extra 5 minutes in a blue defense category and bump the minutes from 10 to 15 in defense, it gives you much more growth. Even if the passing loses 1 point or so over 3 seasons.

just example numbers.
