The sign says dogs are considered "filthy". I'd keep my dog away from your wife but not the entire neighborhood? What if I live there too. Define a "little tolerance".
There is an orthodox temple near my parents house, some dude walked by and told my dad that his outdoor auto lights turned on when he walked by and that meant he was "doing work" and that was not allowed so my dad need to shut the lights off. My dad declined, politely. Sometime religion makes you ask for stupid things.
a little tolerance means compromising. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd do my best to keep my dog from annoying my Muslim neighbors, just as I would try my best to live peacefully with any of my neighbors, whatever their religion or culture. In return, I would hope they would treat me the same. Don't kill my dog if it accidentally gets loose. Just politely ask me to control my pet.
also the sign says Islam "considers" dogs filthy. Doesn't say they are. Jews who keep kosher consider baacon filthy. I don't care. I'll still eat it.
