We can debate if institutional racism still exists. There is no debate that the Holocaust happened and that Hitler was largely responsible for it. I would not care if Tang said there is not more anti semitism. I'd think he was wrong but whatever. To post pics of Hitler just to be an A Hole, as he admitted that was why he did it, is simply crazy.

That would be like me stating there is no institutional racism and posting pics of the Klan.

That’s the point. There isn’t a debate as to whether or not institutional racism exists, it does.

In your opinion. I disagree. But we have different operational definitions. For example I don't believe that the state of MA (as an employer), JP Morgan, General Electric, Samuel Adams, etc. discriminate in terms of hiring minorities. I however, don't dismiss that racism was very prevalent not too long ago in our public and private employment sectors.

How do you know? (Referring to your last sentence)

I don't know. I said don't believe they do. It would be stupid. These are entities that want to make money and capitalism is color blind. I could be 100% wrong. In the US you are innocent until proven guilty. Is there some data that shows that these companies are discriminating?

I was referring to your last sentence.

From stuff I read, docs on the History Channel, etc. I mean baseball didn't even allow black players until 1947. So the data is there.

Keep in mind, Jews have had a long history of oppression also but that doesn't mean that I think that anybody owes me anything and I don't teach my kids that they are owed anything. I think it is a grave error to preach rhetoric that the current generation owes something because of the sins of a prior generation or generations.

What good comes from telling young minorities that the country is racist/bigoted and they are born with one hand tied behind their back? Doesn't that in actuality hurt them more than stating "if you work hard you can achieve anything in this country, regardless of race or gender"?

I'm not sure how denying reality helps anyone.

If someone is born with one leg, does it make sense to tell them that they actually have two legs?
Being born a minority is not the same as missing a limb.

So 1947???? That's fairly long ago. There hasn't been institutional racism since?

It's called an analogy.
