"I don't need to do my work. I'll always receive a check." Guess what, that 6th grader was correct.

Yeah, that's a problem. I think the welfare system needs to be adjusted and restructured. It's still used correctly by like 90% of people who actually need it so obviously we still need welfare.

How much did fraud grow? It jumped to $592.7 million in 2016, up a staggering 61% from $367.1 million in 2012, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. (See Table 46 in the report.) The monetary figures are "Fraud Dollars Determined By Investigations." In other words, these figures are based on identified incidents. In 2016, the number of fraud investigations totaled 963,965, up more than 30% from 2012. (Side note: Almost half of those investigations were in New York State, according to the report.)

BLUE STATE. No wonder NY selects suckers like AOC.

Proof regarding Iran. Now prove that 90% use welfare correctly. As in they don't trade their foodstamps for less $$ so they can buy cigarettes and scratch tix.

Can we cut Medicare and Medicaid? It’s my house if you are in need knock and ask for help. If you break my door and start raiding my fridge I will destroy you and have your kids sent to juvy
I think it's pretty important for elderly people who need good healthcare. How would you replace it?
8/11/2018 12:10 PM
I would amend it. I would actually proactively pay more. Right now doctors delay or postpone taking medicare patients because they know they receive less money for treating them. That results in those patients getting worse and then the treatment costs more as they go to ER or are hospitalized. Pay more up front. Partner with private insurers.

I would raise the retirement age to 72 for full SSI collection. I would hire more fraud investigators to gauge how many are ripping off the system. I would also give more power to the states and make it a state issue vs. federal.

I would also like to see evidence that 90% use it correctly.

P.S. IMO if you are healthy enough to work, you should not receive government assistance.

We are on the same page and if you chose to be a fat slob all your life and at 70 you have diabetes, are in a wheel chair and need heart pills, that is on you. Pay for it yourself. Don't make me pay for you living a life of a fat loser. There should be an annual spend cap.
