The problem with the 57 mill is not that it can't work or be fun, but I think it's preventing people from signing up. They see the same teams with the same players being entered because the cap is too high and decide to pass. I have a competitive team built at less than 50M and I have waaaaaayyy to much of everything. The only way 57 could work is if you could select one player from the blacklist, then you could easily justify it and have a large variance in teams. Good luck, hope it fills.
This.
Lower caps have more diversity, and that is way more important to most owners than having a plan B.
I'm having deja vu.
Yeah. I might be in at 52m, but 57 seems way excessive given the quantity of quality that is off the board.
I don't know. Given the resistance some people show to a draft league at 57 mil or any other format at higher cap which will ensure all teams will be different, I suspect that some owners want lower caps simply to enjoy seeing many teams crash and burn due to not having enough of something, or not managing the team every day properly. In my opinion, the WINNING teams in lower cap leagues are mostly similar and without much diversity. Though there are some owners that tries wild new ideas and player-season combo to build a winning team, majority of "winning" owners are actually behaving like a kin of a single "uber-owner", as you can often see 4 teams in the conference finals having mostly the same players in lower cap league that does not force owners to have their own unique players. There are several experiment ideas I never had the chance to try due to the cap restriction. If you want to make 48 million dollar cap league version of similar league, please go ahead. I won't cry copyright violation or idea stealing because of it, and will enter a team in such league if you make one.
