The problem is that if you cut anything, its political suicide.

Someone who doesn't constantly say stupid stuff. Looks like the top 2 choices are Bernie and Warren. Bernie seems like a genuine person, but his ideas are unrealistic. Warren is a lying idiot.
Judging by the current occupant of the white house, I'd say this isn't really a concern.
This.

I love how people who are pro-Trump complain about 1) politicians who are lying idiots and 2) politicians who aren’t concerned about deficits.

It’s also just bad policy. There is no private primary health insurance market for people over 65. Cutting Medicare really isn’t an option.

It definitely isnt an option when you just made a huge, upper-class tax cut.

I'm confused. Is this directed at me? If it is, you don't follow to closely. I am not a Trump supporter and I'm a deficit hawk. I have never given Trump a pass on either of those.

So, you're saying that there is nothing in the federal budget that should be cut or at least trimmed?

Medicaire and Medicaid need to be revamped. SSI should start at 72 not 65 for people born in 1970 or after. Medicine should be proactive and not reactive. Pay more up front with Medicaire so that patients are proactive. Right now if I call because my foot hurts and the doc knows I have private insurance I can get an appt. in 2 days or less. If I call with Medicaire I may not get in for 3 weeks as Medicaire pays less up front. Now my foot is really bad and it costs more to fix it.

I would investigate the fraud in both. People with "bad backs" who collect checks while working under the table need to be exposed.

Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid make up 77%,of mandatory program spending w/o budget limits. That is insanity and unsustainable. Meanwhile people are screaming to cut the military budget....which actually creates jobs. This country is fat and takes too many meds. That needs to be addressed as well.

Cut spending?! No way, b_l wants more spending. Heck, he thinks we need to increase spending for Veterans' gender-changes.
He's going to pay for it all with his 99% tax-bracket.

Specific to medicare and social security? No. If you think those two programs are unsustainable, then two changes need to be made.

Short-term, we need an influx of immigrants. Long-term, we need to put policies in place that encourage more child births: tax cuts for parents, federally mandated parental leave, heavily subsidized child-care, etc.

We need more workers paying payroll taxes to support all the baby-boomers retiring.

All federal spending creates jobs.

At cccp, mostly.

What I am proposing with Medicaire, Medicaid and SSI would not result in job loss. You argue just to argue.

What solutions do you have? Taxes at 99%? LOL.

Name ONE time when I have complained about lying politicians. You just saw me criticize DJT for the deficit. I did it with BHO as well but you quickly came to his defense. That guy didn't balance anything for eight years. Yet more hypocricy from bad luck. Outstanding.

You’re arguing for less spending. Regardless of whether or not your ideas are good, less spending will reduces jobs. It’s an economic fact.

If a clerk has to issue a reimbursement for $100 or $50 its the same job. I 100% disagree.

So there’s a medical office that was receiving $100 and it’s now getting $50. You don’t think that will impact jobs in that medical office?
