Sure. A flathead screw driver is not going to come crashing down on me when unexpected circumstances arise like it does when you are burdened by debt.

Well, a screwdriver used for the wrong task could damage whatever it is you’re working on, get you electrocuted, etc.

A screwdriver misused can cause problems. Like debt. But, use it well and it becomes an effective way to deal with a variety of problems.

The national debt isn’t crashing down on anyone unexpectedly. We service it without problems and we control our currency.

As you said "stupid stuff" is subjective. I feel like Warren has a long list, but a couple of examples include lying about her heritage and the whole "abolish ice" thing.

Medicaire and Medicaid need to be revamped. SSI should start at 72 not 65 for people born in 1970 or after. Medicine should be proactive and not reactive. Pay more up front with Medicaire so that patients are proactive. Right now if I call because my foot hurts and the doc knows I have private insurance I can get an appt. in 2 days or less. If I call with Medicaire I may not get in for 3 weeks as Medicaire pays less up front. Now my foot is really bad and it costs more to fix it.

I would investigate the fraud in both. People with "bad backs" who collect checks while working under the table need to be exposed.

Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid make up 77%,of mandatory program spending w/o budget limits. That is insanity and unsustainable. Meanwhile people are screaming to cut the military budget....which actually creates jobs. This country is fat and takes too many meds. That needs to be addressed as well.

I would argue that SS, medicare, and medicaid are far more worthy investments to the dollar for the average citizen than 800 billion on the military. Cut it to 500/400 billion. Who cares about 10 jobs lost. Our economy will benefit way more by whatever we invest that in or that helping to cut the deficit a little.

You gotta convince me that cutting Medicare/Medicaid will help ALL citizens. That includes the poor. Go.

Not going to take up the education thing because I haven’t seen the numbers on it, but socialized medicine works.

We all pay huge amounts in heath insurance premiums already. Health insurance companies use those premiums to pay costs and extract profit. Remove the profit part and it ends up covering more people for less.

I think the cost of the latest proposal was $32 trillion to cover everyone for 10 years. The no-change to the system cost for the next 10 years (including premiums and out of pocket expenses) is $33 trillion.

So, you think cutting the military budget in half would only cost 10 jobs?
