He is in good company it seems.
He is. I voted for Trump as well but I only have dual Master degrees, not dual PhDs. I guess that means I have never attained that highest level of intellectual idiocy like your dad has.
I am actually going to tell him that some dude on a message board called him an idiot. He will laugh. That is one of the reasons he stopped voting blue. Thought the party and its principles abandoned him.
I have never been a Democrat (nor a Republican for that matter) but I know a lot of people who feel the same way as your dad. They have been Democrats their entire lives but can't support them any more. They haven't changed, the party has.
I was pretty shocked. He voted for Obama and really liked him. I told him that McCain deserved our vote because he is a war hero. After the first four years of Obama my dad not only voted for Mitt but changed his party from Blue to Red. I remain an Independent. He really feels as though the Blue party betrayed him. Rightly or wrongly. Thank you for that post, gomiami. You echo his sentiments exactly. He used to donate heavily to the Dem party too.
You are welcome. The truth takes no effort at all to say.
Thanks gomiami. Someone else sharing what I have been saying for years now. Guys on this site have been trying to tell me I could not possibly have been a life-long (35+ years) Democrat, yet voted for Trump. I hate many of the things Trump says and does, but those who refuse to admit he is trying to do a lot of what he promised to do (like it or not) are just blind haters. Them, and other hypocritical extremists like them, truly have turned many people totally off to the Democratic Party.
I am still trying to get an answer on what he has done (actions) that have caused people like BL to think he is a bad President?
that's the thing, cccp..I could tell you what, in my opinion, Trump has done that makes him a bad president. Your opinion of those same actions would be different than mine. For instance, I don't like any of the people he appointed as cabinet members (esp DeVoes) or his Supreme Court nominations. You probably do. I don't like the fact that he made fun of a handicapped person (that is an action). You would probably say he wasn't making fun of him. I don't like the fact that he has made racist and sexist remarks. You would probably say its just locker room talk.I don't like the fact that he sends out stupid and childish tweets when I'm sure there are better ways he can spend his time. None of that probably bothers you at all.
I am sorry I mean actions that impact the country such as economy, military, foreign relations, etc. Not his behaviors. My apologies for not being more clear. SC nominations count. I am neutral.

You would think, but then you guys run a candidate who has been groomed her whole life and she is still woefully unprepared. I guess experience in politics isn't that important. Also, come to think about it, I recall a 2008 election where you guys ran a "woefully unprepared" candidate. Did you vote for Obama?
Obama’s wasn’t unprepared. He was a US Senator and a constitutional law professor. That you would equate his and Trump’s qualifications for President really hurts your credibility.

Clinton had been a Senator and US Secretary of State. Like Obama, she was qualified. She wasn’t a likeable candidate though, so we lost our minds and elected this idiot.
We have an election process. Trump won fairly. Instead of accepting this you whine and cry over it. Who is or is not prepared is 100% subjective. Brad Stevens was never a pro basketball coach, yet he is better than 90% of the coaches who had a ton of pro experience. My point is that experience helps but is not the final determinant. Sometimes you need a fresh set of eyes. To dismiss all those who voted for DJT makes you no better than the person you are vilifying, Laura Ingraham. The fact that you cannot see that is funny. Then again you are stupid.
Brad Stevens had qualifications though, mainly being a head coach of a small college team and winning a title and almost winning another.

If the Celtics hired a random fan who had never coached before in his life and had never played basketball in his life, that would be like electing Trump.

I already gave you mine and you ridiculed me and called me an idiot. But OK.

I don't think BHO was a good POTUS?

IMO
  1. When he left office the country was very divided - see BLM. See the election of Trump.
  2. He empowered Iran and alienated Israel (you know that is a hot button for me)
  3. Democrats lost more than one thousand seats in state legislatures, governorships, and Congress during his time in office. In fact. More Democratic state legislative seats were lost under Obama than under any president in modern history.
  4. ISIS rose on his watch
  5. Benghazi happened on his watch
  6. Debt levels increased to historic proportions on his watch with no plan of reduction. Specifically the national debt rose from $11.5Trn to $20Trn, despite tax increases on upper-income families, small businesses, investors, smokers, etc meanwhile, millions of additional Americans fell below the poverty line and the number of food stamp recipients increased significantly.
  7. ACA was a disaster. ~27 million Americans are still without health insurance, and many of the newly insured have just been added to Medicaid. It didn’t reduce cost as promised and it sent premiums and deductibles skyrocketing.
  8. Wasted taxpayer $$ on s Clash for Clunkers and Solyndra (both failed miserably).
  9. Over promoted PC culture. Now we cannot assume people's genders. The whole gender neutral bathroom.
  10. Did nothing about Russia taking Crimea.

I think that is exactly right.
More proof that you like Trump because he ****** people off. That is scary.

That is one of the reasons and I never denied it. You support AOC, who is scared to debate Shapiro and stated that request was equivalent to cat calling.

Scary....

That's too far. He isn't a racist. I think calling him a racist degrades the term and actual racists could get less attention. If the bar is lowered like that, the individual examples are less profound.

Even better, hiring Trump to be President would be like hiring Trump to be the coach/GM of the Celtics. Except he isn't going to kill anyone as a coach.

It's odd that for the most powerful, important, and difficult job in the world, we, as a country, see it as some sort of benefit to hire an amateur when you wouldn't hire that same person for a 10-mile-long list of jobs that are much easier and less important.

He was sued for not renting apartments to blacks.

He took out a full page add arguing that the central park 5 should be executed.

A book by John O’Donnell, former president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, quoted Trump’s criticism of a black accountant: "Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. … I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control." Trump at first denied the remarks, but later said in a 1997 Playboy interview that "the stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true."

Trump lead the birther movement

Trump said that a Mexican judge can't do the job because he's Mexican

There's definitely a recording of him saying the N word.

What? How is it dumb to not debate Shapiro? He's a nobody. Should Trump debate me? She doesn't owe him a debate even if he was going to debate in good faith, which he won't do.

How old are you exactly? Because you seem like you might be 13.
