Now. I wasn't around to witness what he said or didn't say before.

Removing the electoral college would be a major challenge:

The electoral college is in our Constitution, which means getting rid of it requires a constitutional amendment. That equates to a two-thirds vote in both the House and the Senate and the ratification of three-fourths or 38 of the 50 states. It would make my vote count and the pandering for votes process would change.

Yes, I realize what the process is to pass an amendment.

I would be interested in an overview of what changes you would expect in the "pandering for votes process"?

Term limits:
House-- three 2 year terms( can't be on the ballot again until 4 years have passed)
Senate--one 6 year term( can't run again until 6 years have passed)
Governor- one 4 year term( can't run again until 4 years have passed)
Scotus---one 12 year term( automatic retirement for life)

President--one 6 year term(can never run again for Prez or V.P.)
Vice Prez--one 6 year term( cannot run for President until 6 years have passed)

Maybe there's more, but candidates spending overwhelming amounts of time in only the "swing" States would stop. Flipping a vote in a 65-35 State would become just as important as flipping a vote in a 50-50 State. That would be an extremely big change.

Sorry but all stupid, unnecessary ideas. Tampering with the Constitution to fix voter ignorance and apathy is like giving somebody peanut butter to wash down his crackers and cheese...............it just gums up the works!!

Term limits come via the voting booth. VOTE FOR NEW PEOPLE. Candidates NOT beholden to big money donors or political parties!
Can't we Americans stop looking for easy answers and easy fixes and realize the PROBLEM is US!
OUR ignorance. Accepting, year after year, poor choices put forward for leadership. The result is we (always) vote/choose the lesser of two evils (based on our own guess?). The lesser of two evils is still EVIL!

Wake up. Demand better. STOP voting for evil people like Trump or HRC.
EDUCATE YOURSELVES!

There is/was no excuse for voting for a con man/loser like Trump.

I say this begrudgingly and somewhat hypocritically because I opted not to vote for either candidate, but there was a good reason to vote for Trump. If you didn't vote for him, we would have HRC as president. And yes, as much as I dislike Trump, I think she would have been worse for the country than him. The mistake wasn't made in the general election. It was made in BOTH primaries.

That’s dumb.

I'm not sure you're in much of a position to call anything or anyone dumb.
8/18/2018 11:14 AM
Yeah, I am. Trump is a disaster. At some point, in the relatively near future, you’re going to agree with me.

As much as you or anyone else disliked Clinton, she wouldn’t have been. Because she isn’t an insane criminal.

I'm not getting into a back and forth over this. The country is doing well. Trump is president. It's Tradition for the president to take the credit or blame for the state of the union. Hillary has been a disaster in her political career. We know this. Trump's a scum bag. Hillary is a scum bag. I'm going with the scum bag who doesn't have a track record as a failure politically.

I ain't "going" with either of them. Trump is likely headed for jail and it's certainly possible that HRC should be.

EDITED (to add) Thanks for the welcome back Coach! Hope you are well......... and still coaching.

Except he is failing politically.

Theres a reasonable chance that he’s impeached or forced to resign within the next two years.

Thats nuts.

His own party hates him. Not because he is bad for the establishment, but because he’s ineffective and legitimately stupid. And racist.

To claim that’s anything but a failure, despite average-ish gdp growth, is denying reality.

I agree. Despite B_L's rambling's, like I said, the mistakes were made in the primaries.

I am well and still coaching.
