A judge in Washington, D.C., on Monday ruled in favor of Christopher Steele, the former British intelligence officer who authored an unverified dossier alleging ties between President Trump's campaign and Russia, in a libel suit.

in the ruling reported by The Guardian, Judge Anthony Epstein upheld a decision to dismiss a case by three Russian oligarchs who had sued Steele and his firm for defamation for reports in the dossier. The judge said the men had not sufficiently proved that Steele knew any of the information in the document was false.

Republicans and allies of President Trump have erroneously accused the FBI of beginning an investigation into the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russia based off claims made in the Steele dossier, while the investigation was actually launched due to comments former aide George Papadopoulos made to Australian officials.

I never said we should not allow immigration. I said we should not allow illegal immigration. If you want to change the laws and hire more agents to increase the exodus of refugees coming to the US, that is fine. But we have laws for a reason. Don't cherry pick what you like and dislike. 1) Yeah, more revenue equals a bigger paycheck. For the BP union, more revenue (higher budget) means more agents get hired and the union membership grows, making the union more powerful.

2) Illegals are actually a net positive for the country. They pay taxes but aren't eligible for federal assistance, Social Security, or Medicare. They also work for low wages so the low cost of their labor keeps consumer prices down.

Obviously, we don't want to just allow illegal immigration, but trying to deter it by separating small children from their parents, sometimes permanently, is ridiculous and cruel. It does very real damage and only a stupid person with no critical thinking skills would be in favor of that as a punishment for a very, very minor crime.

1) More revenue for the WALL....not sure about bigger paychecks. Do you have a source. In your example if more revenue meant for improved tech for bankers it does not equate to more money in my pocket and may actually cost some jobs due to tech.

Where did I say that I would have zero borders? I said we can't allow illegal immigration. The point is that the wall is a terrible use of resources and that the family separation policy is cruel and stupid.

Give an alternatives or stop opining. What we have thus far is not working. What proof do we have that the wall will not work. If you are in Mexico would you be more or less inclined to come in legally, knowing that if you're caught you will be separated from your kids or if you're caught you'll be coddled?

Yeah, that's not the way punishment works. If you shoplift, would you be more or less inclined to shoplift, knowing that if you're caught, you'll be executed on the spot?

#1) As I said the border agents want it. You don't because you want more voters. You have not sold me on how this is self serving for them. If anything it could cost them jobs.

#2) I have no idea. I just know that what is happening now is not working to my satisfaction.

#3) Execution is not the same as separation. Shoplifting is not as serious as sneaking into the country illegally IMO. If you shoplift with a kid in tow. When you are arrested the kid will be separted from you.

You have not provided alternative solutions. You just complain a lot.

1) Dummy, illegal immigrants can't vote. It's self serving for them to be in favor of proposals to spend money on border security, because their job is border security.
