On Tuesday afternoon, Donald Trump’s former campaign chair Paul Manafort was found guilty of eight counts of tax fraud, and, more significantly, his former lawyer and self-described “fixer” Michael Cohen, besides pleading guilty to eight counts of tax evasion and violating various campaign finance laws, directly implicated Trump in his crimes.

I don't think he colluded with Russia.

As I explained top legal minds cannot even agree if there is a crime here. Technically Trump could have told Cohen. Pay all the small monies hush pmts. I don't care and don't want to know about them and I'll reimburse you. That is legal per Dershowitz. Also a sitting POTUS cannot be indicted.

Also, there is no actual disagreement on whether or not the campaign payoffs were criminal. Cohen just pleaded guilty to the crimes and will go to jail. The President is now an unindicted co-conspirator to criminal activity.

No, that’s not correct. There was nothing illegal about those campaign contributions. The campaign was fined because they didn’t file the correct 48 hour notices when the donations were received within 20 days of the election.

That’s an administrative fine, not a crime.
