Anyone want to help a brother out. Just when I felt like I have this game dialed in, it gets all confusing again. My team went to the NLCS last season. Upped my player payroll to bring in missing pieces and now my team is .500... cant figure it out. Statistically, my team is on the bottom of hitting both total, home, and away which amazes me because last season my team was sick on the road games. I thought I had some good hitters despite playing in an all -4 ball park, but this is pathetic. Maybe that is the problem? I have no idea... thanks..

The thing that stands out to me is defense. Ss,cf, 2nd. If I was going to play guys with those ratings they better hit very well like .900 ops.

What defensive ratings would you recommend at those spots?

I use for a ss 85+ in each category. Cf and 2nd I try to get 85 + range and glove. I give and take based on hitting with the player and my overall team. But generally I want those or more. I look for hitting at other position that can lack fielding like 1st and rf.

Yeah, I have those ratings for my CF and SS except the glove. So I dont think that's the issue with my team...but thanks for looking

Honestly, I think your team is just underperforming and will have a strong second half.

I've always noticed that the franchise rankings page can give you a good general overview of how your team will fair. Looking at that, you have one of the worst defenses in the NL, but you have one of the best offenses and probably the best pitching staff.

Not a fan of the canyon ballpark. You have some nice pop but Tacoma mitigates it.

But mostly agree with strikeout. Patience.

Unlike friarboy, Tacoma is my favorite ballpark. But it will expose weaknesses. You can't give the opposition free bases from errors, minus plays, and walks. Offensively, your legit power hitters will still get their HRs, but it's difficult to string together 4-5 base hits. So a double and a base hit to drive in 1 run becomes pretty important. It takes patience.

Lol ok good luck.

You're also near the bottom of the world in walks and steals. You're offense is not optimally constructed for your ballpark. When you play in an extreme pitchers park, you need a lot of guys who can get on base when the hits aren't coming, and who can steal you an extra base too.

Exactly this is spot on. Your team is not built well. Don't ask for help then when successful people give it to you tell them they are wrong. Now I remember why I do not offer help.

Not sure if you actually looked at my team. My center fielder has 91 in range and SS is 87.. I quoted, I have those ratings besides the glove. I understand I can use an upgrade at 2b because I dont have those ratings there although I have a guy in AAA that does and I can bring up. I never said, "you were wrong". Makes me question, are you saying this is the exact reason what's wrong with my team? Because if it is, I dont think that's the reason..maybe you read into what I said too negatively. If you looked at my team I appreciate it.
