Trump should have nominated a woman and bad luck completely missed the point of my post.
You are right that trump should have nominated someone else. There are plenty of equally conservative judges who haven't been credibly accused by multiple women of assault.
Accused does not equal guilty. The point of this entire thread.
He isn't on trial.
If you were looking to hire someone for a prestigious position in a company you ran, would you hire someone who had been credibly accused of assault? I wouldn't. Especially when there are plenty of other equally qualified candidates.
"Credibly" accused is the key. GOP claims they are not credible.
Here is what is funny. If the Dems had the majority and Kav was a Dem pick then the Dems would call Ford not Credible and the GOP would say she was. This is 100% about politics. 0% about the truth.
The GOP isn't claiming that they aren't credible. In fact, GOP Judiciary Committee Senator Jeff Flake called for an investigation of the accusation.
It's absolutely not 100% politics as evidenced by Gorsuch's confirmation.
It is and Flake was bullied into it. We'll see what he does on Fri. He gave the FBI a week. We already stated that only three Dems voted for Gorsuch..those in RED STATES.
OK, Here's the deal. Bullied?? I think not, Flake is a big boy who sometimes exhibits courage. He's thinking about a pres. run in his future.
He stated VERY publicly that He could NOT have done what he did (ask for a 1 week delay/investigation) IF he was running for re-election.
I ask you (ALL) what does that say about our Senate, our "system", when a candid honest admission from a Senator that IF he was running for re-election He would NOT have been able to do what HE thought best for the Country?? He admits He could only do what he thought right because HE
wasn't running for re-election.
It appears to me that the Bully-ing comes from WITHIN the "parties"!
So much so that OUR elected officials admit they can't do what's best for US! (due to party political pressure!)
