What would you suggest a mayor/city counsel do about policing?
Ummm...have more of it! A lot more. Don't worry about streotyping or alleged assaults. Start cleaning up the cities.
Is it proven that a greater police presence in the inner cities leads to less crime/fear in the people?

Haven't we tried this before? It's not as simple as 'more cops'.
In NYC under Rudy and it worked.
Yet crime rates in New York City are lower today....weird.

Not to mention under Rudy you had Trump taking out full page ads accusing 5 innocent kids of something they didn't do.

Just trying to get back on topic!

Tell you what Boris. There are plenty of folks who "believe" that HRC ran a prostitution ring out of a pizza joint in DC. It was all over the internets..........

Let's open an FBI investigation into those charges and get to the bottom of things and IF She lied when she denied being involved with that prostitution ring then let's "lock her up"!!!!.............. Will that make it fairer??? You are asking for "fairness" in politics involving SEX. That's nuts.

HRC is such OLD news. The Clintons are history, nearly gone, will you please leave them there!!!
they BOTH suck as people, though Bad Bill DID deliver us a balanced National budget!!

I sure wish somebody would do THAT again!
You missed my point.

wylie said he doesn't think Kav should be on the SC whether he is guilty or innocent because he thinks he lied and liars should not be on the SC. But he was OK with a liar as POTUS --- HRC. I find that funny.
No, I didn't miss your point. I just think that we KNOW most Presidents have lied to the citizenry (sadly!) on occasion over the last 6 or 7 decades (at LEAST!)............ We be used to lying POTUS. A S.C. justice that is a known liar is a far different matter. We expect our JUDGES to tell the truth and rule according to LAW, especially S.Ct. Justices. The bar SHOULD be higher as to honesty than that of a President. Unless the POTUS is an independent or some minor party nominee we know they've been lying for years in order to advance within their Party! Even Mitt had to lie, and McCain, too! It's inherent within the system.

Bringing up HRC is just a way for repubs. to deflect from the clusterphuck occuring now/daily!
That was not what I was doing. I expect the Celtics to win every game. No one is perfect.
Brad Stevens is responsible for literally everything that the Celtics do on the court.
Really? He shoots the ball, makes the passes, plays D and rebounds?

Your stupidest post of all time.
It was sarcasm, equating my post to you saying Dems control the inner cities.

Do you agree with the original post or not about the 5 items and you were not kidding about Stevens. It was a false analogy anyway.

WTF?!?!?!

I've had it Jeff. I have been on these boards 4ever. I don't lie or dodge questions. I am not putting up with ******** always looking for proof. Either you believe me or you don't. Period.

During the 1990s, crime rates in New York City dropped dramatically, even more than in the United States as a whole. Violent crime declined by more than 56 percent in the City, compared to about 28 percent in the nation as whole. Property crimes tumbled by about 65 percent, but fell only 26 percent nationally.

Many attribute New York's crime reduction to specific "get-tough" policies carried out by former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's administration. The most prominent of his policy changes was the aggressive policing of lower-level crimes, a policy which has been dubbed the "broken windows" approach to law enforcement. In this view, small disorders lead to larger ones and perhaps even to crime. As Mr. Guiliani told the press in 1998, "Obviously murder and graffiti are two vastly different crimes. But they are part of the same continuum, and a climate that tolerates one is more likely to tolerate the other."

I used Rudy as an example of what works and what should be done in Chicago, Oakland, etc. More policing not less. But that was not even the point of the discussion. Crime is just one of the factors.
