I do know he can't lose that gig. he's appointed for life. Absent an impeachment, he's fine. And impeaching a federal judge is damn near impossible.

His reputation is certainly harmed. But that is probably correct. Ford seems credible (even Trump said so). If Kavanaugh did what she says he did, he deserves to lose his reputation.

I don't know the answer to your specific question. I don't believe that races are inherently better or worse at things than other races. The explanation for blacks in the NBA probably has more to do with the sports they played (or didn't play) growing up.
But he can. Why can he not be impeached?

She sounded compelling but not necessarily credible. Now her case is falling apart. From the double doors, to the fake witnesses, to the lie about coaching others on how to take a lie detector test. I was 50/50 before. Now I am 95/5 that she is not credible. She got rich from this but it is fishy at best. If he were a single guy I'd shrug but his wife and kids don't deserve this. And many on the left call him "rapist"...which is not even alleged. This is not a job interview. It is a character assassination.

I have played and coached for a combined 30+ yrs. They are better. Hence the movie...white men can't jump.
Impeachment requires 2/3 majority in Senate, just like the President. That will never happen.

She sounded credible and nothing is falling apart.

Have you not been following the news:
  • 2nd door was built in 2008 for the income property (separate entrance). Not in 2012.
  • Ford flew all the time (was never afraid to fly)
  • None of the witnesses have corroborated this
  • Said the incident defined her life but she told no one for 30 yrs
  • Therapist notes don't corroborate her story
  • She said she never coached anyone how to take a lie detector test but that is not true
  • She cannot name a time or place this happened.
Too many holes to ruin a life.
What does the 2nd door have to do with what happened in 1982?

Plenty of people are afraid to fly but do so anyway for work or vacation.

As was explained, since no one else was assaulted, the party doesn’t stand out to them.

It’s really common for for sexual assault victims to keep their assault a secret.

Have you seen the therapist notes?

She hasn’t coached anyone on a polygraph.

She gave a month/year and a general area.
#1) You're an idiot. She said she needed that door because she was scared of the attack and had it put in, in 2012 when she told her husband.

#2) She did it all the time in copter tours in HI

#3) So why did she name them at all? Even the people who brought here there can't recall.

You're a moron.
1) I’m pretty sure she said the fight over the doors put them in therapy.

2) Sure. And?

3) She named the people that were there. If it were some sort of conspiracy, wouldn’t she have included them in on the conspiracy?
She has mental issues and the Senate Dems used and abused her.

They appointed her lawyers and told her what to do.

The whole thing was orchestrated and paid for.

The time to defend FORD is over.

The time to defend ranking Dems in the Senate has begun.

I HATE flying. Scares the crap out of me. I've flown at least 20 times this year, including helicopter rides over LA and Vegas. That's one of the dumbest reasons to infer someone is lying I've ever heard. I realize it was just a GOP talking point, but it's dumb as ****.
10/3/2018 9:07 PM
Town records show the doors were put in 2008 not 2012. Goes to credibility of her fear. I only have a fear of rats.

You didn’t answer my question. If it’s a conspiracy, wouldn’t the friends have been looped in?

And broadening that question, if this were some sort of political ploy, all these things would be tied up nice and neat, right? There would be no fog around the memory. No uncertainty around whether the doors were put in in 2008 or 2012.

But it isn’t a ploy. It’s real. And with reality comes inconsistencies.

I somewhat agree that those things are happening in the inner cities, yes.

Ummm...have more of it! A lot more. Don't worry about streotyping or alleged assaults. Start cleaning up the cities.
Is it proven that a greater police presence in the inner cities leads to less crime/fear in the people?

Haven't we tried this before? It's not as simple as 'more cops'.
In NYC under Rudy and it worked.

WTF?!?!?!

I've had it Jeff. I have been on these boards 4ever. I don't lie or dodge questions. I am not putting up with ******** always looking for proof. Either you believe me or you don't. Period.

During the 1990s, crime rates in New York City dropped dramatically, even more than in the United States as a whole. Violent crime declined by more than 56 percent in the City, compared to about 28 percent in the nation as whole. Property crimes tumbled by about 65 percent, but fell only 26 percent nationally.

Many attribute New York's crime reduction to specific "get-tough" policies carried out by former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's administration. The most prominent of his policy changes was the aggressive policing of lower-level crimes, a policy which has been dubbed the "broken windows" approach to law enforcement. In this view, small disorders lead to larger ones and perhaps even to crime. As Mr. Guiliani told the press in 1998, "Obviously murder and graffiti are two vastly different crimes. But they are part of the same continuum, and a climate that tolerates one is more likely to tolerate the other."

I used Rudy as an example of what works and what should be done in Chicago, Oakland, etc. More policing not less. But that was not even the point of the discussion. Crime is just one of the factors.

Fair enough. Although I would contest that the political and cultural environment is much different now than in the 90's, and criminalizing small crimes could be the spark that leads to even more racial and class divides and conflict.

Due process is reserved for when the government is going to take away your liberty.

Due process is not required in job interviews.

Never been accused of sexual assault period.

What would you suggest the school basketball team or Harvard do?

You seem really angry. Not sure why other than maybe you have anger issues? You've threatened to beat me up several times. It's not a huge leap to think someone who goes to violence as a first resort might also harm their family.
WRONG.

I said in a different world and different time. Find one post where I actually threatened you. Liar.

I suggest they don't punish a guy for a false 36 yr old claim. You can tell my mood on the web? LMAO. You're really a piece of work.
Is being turned down for SCOTUS a punishment?
Having a reputation ruined for life is a punishment as well as being turned down for a great job by an uncorroborated allegation. Correct. If someone from HS accused me of this then you'd really see me flip out.

I'll re-ask. If blacks aren't inherently better at hoops why is the NBA 75% black when blacks make up 13% of the population and the top 30 NBA prospects are also all black?

Enjoy.
If Kavanaugh doesn't get the SCOTUS gig, he goes back to the second most powerful court in the country. Not exactly a huge deal.

I don't know the answer to your question. Maybe that's why you thought I was dodging.

If blacks are inherently more athletically gifted, you'd see similar domination in all sports. But we don't. Makes me think there is more to this than race.
You don't know that. He could lose that gig too and he has lost his teaching gig at Harvard and can no longer coach or get his rep back. You disagree that there has been damage? Are you kidding? His wife and kids are traumatized for life. Again if the allegations are proven. Deserved. If not, it is a travesty. Yes?

You don't know because you know I am correct. It is true in Football too, boxing, track and field and soccer too in countries where soccer is prevalent. Answer is they are inherently better. Genetics that are long arms and legs, bigger hands, and quick hips help in many sports. Croatians share similar traits. Look at them. They made it to the finals of the World Cup and excel in hoops as well and they are a tiny country.

It is 99% race. 1% intangibles.
Wait, what? There was not a single black person on the Croatian team? How did they beat England, who had multiple black players? It does not apply to soccer, nor does it apply to hockey, baseball, etc. You can't pick and choose.

That said, I do NOT want to have this argument again.
