Absolute and utter BS from WIS. And I'm out Topic

Situations like this have no resemblance to reality especially the examples everyone has brought. Cheesecake Factory worker?! Seriously you’d have to compare apples to apples, successful D1 coaches are paid in the 6 figure range. You can’t just find another “John Smo” to fill that 1 million dollar a year salary.

Forgetting the arcane jog logic that exists, why would D1 Arkansas deem him unqualified for a position that they were previously happy with his performance? Unless a more tenured coach applies, Deemo would be welcomed back with open arms in a RL situation.

I

It doesn't matter how good you are at your job if you suddenly stop showing up. The cheesecake won't serve itself.

If I fail to update my depth chart before a game I don't get a do-over. If I don't start recruiting on the first cycle I can't go back in time. If I choose to not renew early, why should I be guaranteed a mulligan when I gamble on remembering the timeline and lose?

I appreciate all of the viewpoints and feedback on here. I don’t agree with some but that’s not a problem.

As mentioned, it’s 100 percent my fault for not renewing on time.

But some of the analogies here are ridiculous. The Cheesecake Factory one? Was I paying the Factory to work there? No. No I wasn’t. I am the consumer, not an employee of WIS

Oh that’s not how real life works? Oh ok.

Bobby Cremins, Don Haskins, Billy Donovan, Dan Dakich, Gregg Marshall, Dana Altman off the top of my head.

Those guys quit their coaching jobs, accepted other jobs, and came back after they changed their mind. Spare me the real world analogies.

Shame on me. Life goes on. Like Wales said, just would have liked the treatment you would expect after playing here for a decade. From WIS and from fellow coaches.

Be well and have a good evening. Go Chiefs.

Oh Deemo. I wanted to defend you. But as a Bronco fan, I will never go there. You were a good coach. Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

Love you Arfy

Here's the recent lowdown.... Somehow the good guys won...

Whoever applied for Arkansas backed off. And I then was allowed to return.

I still feel strongly about the situation but Im happy to be staying and playing..

You guys are awesome.. Except actually Arfy, whose team blew a 10 point lead and they got a Case of the Keenums. :-)

I thought it was strange that you didn't renew after the class your recruited. Other than the failing to renew, your situation is common when turning around a d1 program. The job hiring logic is out of sync with where your program actually is.

"I missed the deadline... I get that. 100% my fault."

Did I read that correctly?

Look at all the sheeple. "Rules are rules, man". Stupid ******* move for most any business design. He's not a real ******* coach. He pays to play a game. Lost revenue is not conducive to a profitable company.

If nobody else applies for the job, I don't see what the issue would be for deemo to be able to get his job back. Unless he had a resume where he would be unfit for that position. It's a simulation game, no need to use real life analogies. It doesn't really apply here.

I couldn't imagine it being that hard of a fix. It would be a win win situation and nobody really gets hurt by it.

Rules are rules and they should be abided by, but some common sense should prevail here.

Rules are for the weak minded and deviant. Plus there's always some ***** like you who does what he can to bend the rules while touting the rules. Grow some principles.
