For all the trading I did, it sure didn't amount to much.

1st round: move down 9 spots
2nd round: move up 11 spots
3rd round: no trade
4th round: no trade
5th round: moved up 4
6th round: move down 3 spots

Given that I moved down in the first, that is a net loss of value in terms of the pure value of the picks. I ended up with the player I would have taken anyway, so it's kind of moot. That is still misplaying draft capital and it is a good lesson.

Here it is. defense and rebounds. I am hoping to land in pharrop's division, only because the styles are so different.
Name Usage% eFG% OReb% DReb% Ast% DEF
Kobe Bryant 31.9 50.3 3.3 13.6 17 90
Paul George 28.4 49 2.4 16.6 13.1 90
Dennis Rodman 10.7 44.4 15.3 35 5 90
Hakeem Olajuwon 23.5 53.8 16.2 19.3 4 80
Tree Rollins 13.7 55.8 14 24.5 4.3 100
Ryan Anderson 21.4 54.8 12.6 13.8 3.9 36

Also accepting jokes for moving up in the 1st round and ending up with 30 minutes of Dennis Rodman.

Personally, I'd switch that Paul George to the 11-12 version, the Rodman to the 91-92 version and the Tree Rollins to the 81-82 version. In aggregate you only take a total of 23 points a loss in defense, but you do a little optimization of the money you are spending on usage and dramatically improve your team eFG%. You can swap to the cheaper Ryan Anderson season if you want some flex on building your bench.

Either way, you better pick up some assists with your remaining spots.

first person to figure out which seasons I'm using gets a free team. Offer valid until schedule is finalized.

Can I just say "overly expensive ones that will hamper your bench like usual" and still get the free team?

this is not a usual team for me, so that's incorrect. I think my approach is rapidly changing. that's your one and only hint.

Round 4

Biggest Steals:
1) Ray Allen
2) Clyde Drexler

Technically, I think James Harden and Serge Ibaka apply here. But Harden is... I don't know. You can use one of his lower cost seasons but then is that really worthy of a 4th rounder? Or, you can use he best season or two, but that means you are building your team around a flawed player. Either way, it is dh555 so I trust he knows what he is doing and that it will be fine. Serge is fine but he just isn't anything special and it is hard to justify a 3 who doesn't shoot threes.

Biggest Reaches:
1) Paul George
2) Troy Murphy
3) Mark Jackson

All three of these players go undrafted more often than they are drafted so I think you probably could have gotten them later.

I won't defend my pick of Paul George, but Mark Jackson and Troy Murphy are huge values for the right teams in the 4th in the ODL

Maybe? Murphy only gets drafted 44% of the time around the 116 mark while Jackson only gets drafted 33% of the time around the 98 mark.

I only use the last 9 drafts because I like to skew towards the ones that include more recent vintages of the players. In older drafts I would saw you are absolutely right.

Draft value, your numbers are 100% correct. I think that in the later rounds ADP is much more helpful in the 52. You have to take chances in the ODL. People pass on Murphy specifically for a flashy player and it messes up their money/bench

yea im usually pretty down on harden and his insane amount of turnovers....but i also love a good box score(using his 16-17 monster) and like the challenge of building around harden...i think i got the right players around him so far but im not sure if hes good enough to win an odl title(unless he has wilt of course)
