You do realize that just because these are the wages in the agricultural business, that not all industries, and more specifically, most small companies can't afford $15/hr, right?
10/26/2018 2:33 PM
C'mon out here and pick lettuce in the lovely AZ sunshine and then figure how much/Hr. YOU think it's worth??

Alls I know is most of us old f**cs wouldn't touch the job for less than about 25 bucks an hour.......... How much you want to pay for that head of Iceberg?
Most of my friends preferred playing baseball to picking lettuce, Coach.

Yes, I'm not arguing what jobs in the ag industry. I'm speaking generically about raising the minimum wage. It would destroy small businesses and make the rich richer.

Raising the min wage would help the big box stores as it will put their competitors out of business and would help automation for sure as more businesses would automate.

So who takes care of them while they hang-out at the boarder for years?

As uncompassionate as it sounds, we need to send them away. A precedent will be set here, and the World is watching.
Whatever we give this caravan, we're going to need to give the next caravan, and the one after that, and the dozens after that.
We were NOT ALL like them. The overwhelming majority of our ancestors came here legally - they didn't just show-up demanding to be allowed in.
Why do assume they are coming here illegally? Unless you're a full-blood Native American then you're an immigrant. There is ZERO difference from this current "caravan" and the boats filled with myriads of Italians, Polish, Irish and other ethnicities that flowed across the Atlantic for decades. Those people sought refuge and a better life and they WERE NOT turned away. I can't imagine that the logistics of providing emergency facilities for 3,000 people are that great. Especially when we support the situation properly with a both a military and humanitarian face. Our borders should be open, but completely secure. There is a process. There is a line. If proper resources are committed beyond partisan lines there is NO reason that this grand goal, one at the foundation of our nation, should not be achieved.
This is so f'n stupid, I'd swear b_l wrote it for you. WTF does how people came here 200, 150, or even 50 years ago have to do with now? Should we go back and put all the same laws and civil liberties of the 1800s in place too? The Libs would "love" that - no homosexuals, transgenders, or Government hand-outs and we'd still have slaves.

Are you fantasizing again?? lol
10/26/2018 5:14 PM
Admittedly I'd prefer 3 of those 4.

There are are a lot of large, profitable businesses that employ large amounts of people at wages so low that those people are on public assistance. The tax-payers are subsidizing the profit margins of Amazon, McDonalds, and Walmart.

And small businesses who would go out of business if they have to pay their employees $15 an hour instead of $12 an hour probably weren’t very good businesses to start with. Sucks but oh well.

According to the SBA, the median income for self-employed individuals at an incorporated business was $49,804 and $22,424 for unincorporated firms

Raising wages $3/hour would cost small businesses $6240 (3X40X52) to each employee. That increased payroll would increase taxes, insurances and the like around $1500 (using the average figure of around 25%), bringing the total to $7740 per year per employee.
If a business is making on the lower side of the median, that $3 increase could mean the end of business for anybody with as few as 3 or 4 employees.

More of b_l's idiocy brought to light. It's just TOO EASY! Sure it's only basic math, but facts, figures and truths never get in the way of b_l making a fool of himself. (Thankful for us, as we'd lose the entertainment.)

The fact that BL just shrugged off a $3/hour difference PER EMPLOYEE is hilarious,

And that's exactly what is wrong with you. You're a man terrified by 3,000 indigent people who are seeking a better way of life. You want to deny that homosexuality and transgenderism exists or say that it is a disease or a "sin" and you are filled with ignorance and simple-minded theology. How lucky that your family got here first and they didn't close the border in their face with a pathetic excuse like "we're full" or "you might be criminals" or "you don't look like me."

Conservative Bill Kristol:

The shrinking caravan of refugees isn't a threat to the country or the constitutional order. A president who tries to end birthright citizenship by executive order is.

Bill Kristol is a never trumper weirdo. The voters will speak on Nov. 6th.

My parents wanted a better way of life too. They came here LEGALLY. People may apply for asylum and come here LEGALLY. Why don't you go on another cuss filled tirade, rsp. That was quite entertaining.

So you agree with Trump’s idea to end birthright citizenship?
