Been away for 3 years, can I get some help Topic

Long story short, I have taken a break for a few years and I am back, purchased 10 seasons so I am looking to stick. I see a few things have changed, I have read up on it but I can use some guidance. I dont want to bug you because I realize we probably all have things on our plate but I could use some guidance on best way to navigate this new recruiting (new to me) and a refresher course on the most important attributes by position/scheme

thank you in advance

Looks like you ended up getting a team with a lot of dead weight.

You only have one scholarship offer for next year, so this will be tough.

Try to do what you can to boost your preferences, this year, perimeter shooting, playing a certain type of offense/ defense and try to target a couple of recruits with high potential.

At the end of your season and between the 1st and second recruiting period, you can rescind scholarships. Start with freshman and work your way up, so you don't end up with those players for several years. Rescind as many as you can, so you can get the resources for the following season.

1- is it too late to rescind/cut players for this years team?
2- if i do cut players, do i get any additional resources this year?

You have to wait until the end of the season. After the national championship, there are job applications, but once that is completed, you can start rescinding scholarships. If you go to schedule and then drop down to world schedule it will list all the important dates.

To rescind scholarships, you just go to coaching and then drop down to manage roster.

I've recently been through this with several teams and found that it's key to get rid of players that don't fit your style or aren't good enough to be able to have more assets for recruiting. However, there's no reason to have more than 6 open positions/walkons as that's the max you can get AP's and $'s for and will leave your more talented inherited players to help you rebuild.
I recruit players to fit my offense & defense, maybe taking players that have a wart or two but meet my important needs. When starting, I don't take on human-owned higher prestige teams, when they show up on a recruit of mine I switch to another. Good luck and have fun!

In the new recruiting system, D2 and D3 can grab quality D1 recruits.

A recruiting strategy you might employ this season, is in the 2nd session to jump on a few quality recruits only considering D2. Or even D3.

Have fun!
