I'm surprised Brianjw didn't take him 3 rounds ago! Almost all of his picks I had on a list to take 3 to 5 rounds later! I no longer have a list :) .Before this draft began, I had it in my head that I would take Kershaw early.....in round 10!

Can someone explain the fascination with Kershaw? He's not a top 5 pitcher and his performance doesn't exceed that of several others in the same $/ip range. And only 149 innings.

Since he's from 2016 he wasn't impacted by as many iterations of salary increases as comparable pitchers. He is tied for the second lowest ERC# of any pitcher with over 100 innings (and the best lefty), yet he costs considerably less $/IP than the rest of the Top 5.

I've used him twice with good but not great results, somewhat under expectation like most 21st century pitchers. He may have added value in this draft because nobody like him in that salary range. other than that cost doesn't matter nobody is going over the cap without exploding.

Kershaw basically won me the 130m league in round 1. I had him in the bullpen and used him as an occasional spot starter for the first 3/4 of the season. Down the stretch he started several games to lock up a tight division. In the playoffs he threw 26 innings and while he "only" had a 4.15 ERA, he was still 3-0.

I use him on pretty much every team from 100M up, and there's no one (except maybe Rich Hill) I'd rather have on the mound for a do-or-die playoff game against a good owner (where the HR rate of a modern pitcher likely matters less, and lefties are generally better choices to have ready to go).

Skunk (who I am still trying to get interested in this tournament) and I have had countless Kershaw v. Kershaw WS clashes over the last year or two.

Stubbornly sticking with my increasingly foolish plan because I don't know what else to do at this point ...

Once again on my cell phone. Can someone let the next person up know.

red, you have a great team if the boss lets you roster 80 players.

Well, I figure I have my pick of anyone cheap now so I might as well lock down the bottom of the roster with the best I can. No sense picking someone less effective who costs more. I've already missed out on the best options at other dollar levels, so maybe these guys help me in a different way. Honestly, I thought everyone would take a few sub-$2M players to fill out the bottom of the roster. I can either vault up to the high values now or keep cherry picking through the lower salary guys with less competition and potentially still great players.

It strikes me as likely that some people will end up rostering useless expensive pitchers they never use all season just because they can't fill rosters with anyone cheaper. Maybe I'll at least get use out of all 25 guys ... or lose 120 games and chalk it up to experience.

So the rules say that trading picks is allowed. I can't even imagine what that would look like. But let's say that's true. If I trade for red's next pick, do I use my salary range or his?
