If anyone is interested in loading up for the later rounds, I'd consider trading my picks in rounds 20-23 for picks now. Drop me a note if you're interested. (As an aside, I don't honestly know if it would be a good idea or not, but I'm curious to explore it)
I can't put my finger on why, but the trading picks thing feels unfair to me.

Anyhow, since we're all trading picks, I would do the same, trade my late round picks for picks now. All offers welcome :)

I do not understand why anyone would trade later round picks for earlier round picks. The good players will be off the board in the later rounds. Look at how many players with great seasons are being drafted for their good seasons.

Because they say one is born every minute...

Where can I ask for a trade veto (or maybe I should consider asking my son if he's willing to trade his next 7 picks for my last 7 picks).

I don't mind trading in general. But every other draft I've been in has involved people (a) valuing higher picks more highly and (b) making trades that you could at least see how each side was getting fair value. Just straight up trading higher picks for lower picks seems bad. I know this is a slightly unusual draft, but it's not so unusual that it's worth swapping higher picks for lower ones.

One advantage to waiting is you have a better idea what's left and what you can get away with. And some really goods expensive players won't be available until then unless somebody take a cheaper version. Probably not enough to compensate for losing a pick, but there are some considerations.

I fundamentally disagree -- Having flexibility in the later rounds may be more valuable to some, and I think we'll see it play out where there are valuable players (and garbage players) drafted in every round as we go down the stretch.

With that said, it seems I am alone (or at least with only jfranco) in that thought, since I have yet to receive any offers.

I'm open to trading but not for at least another week to see what my team looks like and which players remain at what salary levels. There's just way to much uncertainty at this moment in this particular draft for it to feel wise to bank on the later rounds. Once the later rounds get here trading picks might be more strategic, and easier to see how it's a mutually beneficial proposition.

I'm avoiding trades for the simple reason that I don't know what the hell I'm doing.

I believe brianjw has it correct but in reverse. Why would anyone trade early round picks for later round picks? There is no advantage to waiting if you can stock up on picks earlier in the draft. You are sitting waiting while everyone else moves forward and the person you traded with gets a free pass to get to the top of the draft sooner. If I could trade my last 5 picks for 5 picks now, I can move up the ladder more quickly and have more of a choice of the expensive players that are left sooner before anyone else. Those really expensive good players would be available to me in earlier rounds because I am drafting my later rounds before anyone else. Plus there would be a chance that I can grab a more desirable more expensive version of those players before someone grabs an acceptable earlier version of that player. Huge advantage for anyone that can trade their later round picks for earlier picks. Why anyone would want to stock up on later round picks and forgo picks now is beyond me.

A trade has been made.
jfranco77 gets my round 12 and round 20 picks.
I get his round 15 and round 17 picks.

So for those arguing for early picks and those arguing for late picks, I obviously disagree with both.
