I think it's a safe bet that we'll see some of the most expensive mopup pitchers in this league since the Earl Whitehill/Willis Hudlin fun in the 16x16 league.

Gonna continue to ignore the fact that I don't have enough PAs at catcher. Might be too late to do anything about it anyway.
Let's go with a SS. Ugh.

I don't have a problem with this draft being a part of WISC. Speaking as someone who knows he will likely finish in the bottom half of the Cage, if you want to prove you are among the best, you should be able to be competitive (not overpowering, but an ability to stay around .500) in almost any environment, including unfamiliar ones. I can't recall the company, but I remember a magazine ad in the '80's for war board games with the caption 'A great general can win any war'. Again, I'm not saying you have to win the war, but you should be good enough that one league will not cost you a shot at the overall championship.

That said, I do wish that this draft weren't being at the same time that I am trying to build teams in other difficult themes of WISC.

Just to be clear, my comment about this league is without regards to being able to win the league or not. Even if I were to end up winning the league I would still contend that it unfortunately turned out to be too much of a gimmick league for WISC. But no worries, this is a fascinating draft.
