It would solve so many issues with the game if each division stayed within their own level when recruiting.Recruiting battles outside of divisions just adds to the unneeded frustration of the game. Either a D-2 team getting jumped by a D-1 team late or a D-1 team losing out to a D-2 school.

If you have D1 level talent and go play D3 ball so you can be a "big fish" I seriously doubt your competitive nature and therefore shouldnt even be playing sports.

Forgetting to renew should absolutely cost you your team. If I no-show and no-call at work for a key meeting, then finally show up again out of the blue a couple days later, it's reasonable to assume I might not be welcome back.

The standard retort to this is it's bad for WIS's bottom line to enforce the renewal deadline. Maybe... but it is realistic.

You still get a scholarship at D3.

No they don't. You may be able to get money through 'merit based' scholarships but it's not a full ride athletic scholarship.

If you had put a whole bunch of effort into a player, a player that could've made a huge impact and then all of a sudden there was a D-1 school that decided to come in late, because they needed a 12th player, you would be fine with that? Despite putting in 20 HVs and all of those APs?

I have had multiple players in the last 2 years sign with a D3 private school in Minnesota or North Dakota because their financial aid package beat the scholarship offer from a D1 school. Now obviously most basketball teams in D1 are offering full rides and there is a legit pro league after their college sport but it does happen in athletics. More than most people realize.

In fact it happened in football here as well. A player chose to go to St. John's in Minnesota instead of taking an offer to another school who offered a 50% scholarship. The FA at some of these private schools is amazing and that 50k for a year disappears in a hurry and it becomes cheaper than the University of Minnesota.

It’s strategic. Stuff happens. It makes the game challenging, which is competitive. The game isn’t singling out one person. Everyone has a chance to get their guy taken by a D1 school. It’s like real life. It’s risk-reward.
