Been playing for a while but still don’t really know the answer to this question. Once you have unlocked all categories for all of the players you are targeting and it is getting close to signing time or signings have begun. Are AP’s still a major factor? HV and CV obviously more important but will adding/subtracting substantial amount of AP’s swing a player in one direction or the other? I know AP would still factor just wondering if loading up on a preferred recruit will make a major difference?

I’ve had the same question.

Yeah I'm pretty sure AP are still pretty important. I know people on hear have good estimates for how much AP the visits are worth. Hopefully someone else posts those cause I don't remember them exactly.

AP are still pretty important though in my opinion.

Absolutely keep piling them on unless they're needed elsewhere. The added AP function to make it harder to get caught from behind by accruing.

If you’re talking about a battle with no visits, very important. If you’re talking about a battle where both teams have maxed effort (visits and promises), a bit less important, but can still be significant (especially if it’s a late signee, and there are many cycles to accumulate). Depends on what the other guy does, of course. If he’s maxing, you can get run down pretty fast if you’re only spending ~20. The value also depends on how good a preference match you are. If you have reason to believe you have a significant preference advantage, you might be safer dropping down and utilizing elsewhere.

Does anyone know how much it is worth compared to a HV?

Some coaches say 50 AP has the same recruiting value of 1 HV, some say it's 100 AP. It's probably somewhere in the middle.

The direct value, if it is linear, is intentionally obscured, because the game doesn’t want us to battle or not based on formulas and calculations. We have to prioritize and bid what the recruit is worth to us.

That said, if there is a linear relationship, I agree it’s probably between 50 and 100 per HV, leaning a little closer to 100, IMO.

I use 60

I agree that it's closer to 100. And someone made a comment about this that made sense to me (of course I forget the coach)..... but in an all in battle where everything is fairly equal as far as prestige and preferences, sometimes AP can be the only difference that's gets you the higher percentage in the dice roll.

I'd feel more comfortable being the coach with 1000+ AP, than the coach that put in enough AP to unlock. I consistently have a recruit with 1000+ AP by the time RS2 rolls around, or shortly after. Unless I only have a 1 man class. Or a 2 man class and i've had to switch targets due to D1 humans jumping in the picture.

I've won battles against big programs as a low prestige team with slight preference advantages because of APs. Giving 60-80 per cycle when the other team is giving 25-50 really adds up over the course of a season.

I also use 60, but I don't have any real statistics to back that up. That's just what I have always used.

Trying to think, can you do a home visit without the campus visit getting to 100% for unlocking recruiting actions? If so, that would be one way to figure it out.
