I think it’s good somethings are random. If nothing was random, and everything was projected, it’d be an easy game to master because there’d be 1 good strategy.
Except, between the random number generator on each play that decides outcomes and early entries, do we really need that much randomness in recruiting?
I think recruiting should be the most random part. EE’s are also random because regardless if someone is a top recruit, he may want to bring a championship to his school. I think the gameplay is good too because it’s realistic. People have good and bad games. And lastly, recruiting should be very random because it is in real life.
WHAT?? Recruiting is very random in real life? On which planet?
Regardless if someone is a top recruit, they may want to bring a championship to his school?? Dude, do you pay ANY attention to college basketball. At all? When's the last time you've seen a projected top 5 pick NOT leave for the NBA?
..slow clap beginning. Impressive stuff man.
Miles Bridges was projected top 10.
He was projected top 15 but close enough I guess. But he's literally the only potential lottery pick I could think of since the one and done rule started.
In HD I've seen the #1 overall pick stay. Not happening in real life and it certainly isn't random.
Joakim Noah was projected top-5 and he stayed. There are a lot of projected-lottery who’ve stayed.
He was only drafted 9th after his final season..
But okay. Only had to go back 10 years. Super common occurence. Very random.
It was just off the top of my head because I’m a bulls fan. We probably would’ve picked him at #2 the year before. We loved him.
Bottom line: there are a decent amount. Every year there are a few lottery projected guys who stay.
The problem is, this game can’t replicate the nature of one-and-some or else your freshman would leave every year and freshman would always be the best players. If it replicated the one-and-done nature, the whole game would be different.
No there aren't a few lottery pick guys who stay every year. There have been a few over the past 10 years.
I'm not saying you need to replicate one and done. I'm saying that in HD the players ranked in top 10 should leave 100% of the time. Don't decide who is next seasons favorite by a random number generator.
There are a few every year. Bridges and Robert Williams are two examples of lottery projected players the year before that stayed and it hurt there draft slot.
Also, if the game replicated one and done, basically no top-10 players would leave, but since this is kind of replicating the old college basketball, no one and done, then players stay longer. You can’t have one aspect of the game that’s old, and one that’s new. They both need to reflect the same rules and time period.
