I have most of my hitting prospects in High A. My High A coach has 56 batting and 67 patience. Should I move these prospects to AA where my hitting coach is 68 hitting and 77 patience. Will it make a difference?

I always play my guys who have a chance to make the ml where my best coaches are.

Almost always unless its stacked.

Do others do the same?

Thanks a ton for the advice, Brian.

But you also need to make sure they get plenty of playing time. So if you have the AI manage your minor league teams, don't put your best recruits in places where they will sit on the bench.

The best advise I can give is find guys who plays your style and see and see what they do.

Is it just a figment of my imagination then that skipping levels stunts growth or causes guys to underperform their ratings?

Same question. Should I place a rookie at AA if the best coaches are there? Or will it hurt him?

Players always perform to there ratings over time. And no it cannot hurt there increase unless the coaches at higher levels are worse or they do not play. The key word is play!

So you will put your youngest player all in AAA because they have the best coaching? Even first year guys?

This is new to me so I am not sure. It does make sense to have them with the best coaches but do you miss out on anything not getting the promotions?

No. DO NOT RUSH your guys to the majors. There are two exceptions:
1. They are aged 21 or over in their first year as a pro, in that case start them in HiA.
2. He is an absolute stud (86+ overall) and can immediately compete at higher minor league levels.

Best advice I can give is to hire coaches that fit your best prospects at that level. Sometimes you have to pay a little bit more, but at the minor league level, coaches are not paid that much.
