Props to happyhours who told us in advance he was traveling and when he would check in. I can't think of a single time he held things up. I always feel better when he's in a league I join.
Thank You, i try!

it's been a fun draft... I had to retire for a couple of years from WIS in 2016 after 11 years as toddleduc
just got back on here last month & am glad to see a lot of familiar faces still at it - good luck the last few rounds to all & good luck in the 3 Leagues ! I miss LIVE play, but the love of the game of baseball has brought me back :))

Cheers, Happy Hollidays, & thanks for running this calhoop !
Having run both seasonal progressive & Theme Leagues, I KNOW how much time & effort is involved

How do people feel about their teams so far?
My good guys should be competitive, despite at least a couple non-catastrophic mistakes.

Pretty wild that so many of the more top-tier, SLB-blessed options are off the table by now. And drafters are quite SLB knowledgeable after all these years.

Still resisting using a speadsheet...

Our going through this process underscores how dumb it is to give MLB players such fat long-term contracts unless they are very heavily incentivized. It's just very rare for even the best players to string together that many great seasons.
On second thought, looking more extensively at the lay of the land this morning...

I'm getting a feeling similar to when I was taken to the woodshed in the second round of the third WISC tournament I was in. I think these high-cap players are guys many of you "have down." I think lots of you play these battle tanks often and you have your approach quite systematized, sort like card counting in card games. That's no knock, it's just different than the style I naturally tend to groove with, sort of left-brain vs. right-brain. I don't expect to win any of these three leagues... but I'll have fun competing and watching.

I think one of the biggest decisions will be after the draft, how to put the 3 rosters together.

Yes indeed.

And hey... maybe we should have a fourth season where we each make whatever team we want, based solely on players cancelled-out here in our draft!

I've been doing that as we've gone along. Have each team built out and ready to roll.

I actually was doing that, but things have gotten a bit convoluted with regards to IP and PA at each position, as well as the overall strength of the 3 seasons for each player. Do I want to put all of my stud eggs in one basket???

I will probably move some guys around after the draft.

(I'm sort of doing that, in my head, with one type of team at one end, another at the other, and a hodgepodge in the middle, of course. The actual divvying will take care. But no artificial fatigue crisis for me!)

I should note that having each team laid out definitely influenced my picks. Whether that was a good or a bad thing is yet to be determined.

You took at least one of my second basemen, Ozo. Give him back.
