Round 2 Roster Deadlines, 2018 Topic

He will have free reign to draft any 70M team he likes, since he would have been the lowest ranked owner. There will be no need for the other others in his division to redraft.

We are formally moving on from bothways to ejstockman for the final spot. ej will not accumulate penalty points for lateness but is expected to make a best-attempt to hit the final deadline (however, not if it requires him to sacrifice team quality).

I'll keep people updated here as we approach the deadline. Everyone else is still eligible for penalty points.

ejstockman has 5 teams in already so it looks like he will make the deadline. I'll be finishing roster verification by next week (assuming all teams are in). Once any required changes are made, we'll be able to get started.

They are in (and hopefully legal). Thanks ozo.

You didn't even earn your way in. this is just unbelievable. have fun having this handed to you while i'm dumped out of the finals. this is a joke.

Wait, bothways disappears, doesn't have his 3 teams entered at the first deadline, doesn't reply to site-mails then shows up at the deadline and is complaining? Wow.

Ah, deadline is today pal, and why are you even in this anyway? oh right, because someone else actually did miss the deadline and needed help. he wasn't kicked to the curb.

Hey bothways, I can understand the frustration and appreciate you being open about having to deal with personal things for a bit. That happens. I think there is some confusion here about the roster entry deadlines, so let me go into detail there.

We have two deadlines in Round 2, as shown in this thread. Three teams must be entered by the first deadline, which was two weeks ago. This was communicated very early on and I posted a reminder right before the deadline happened. When someone doesn’t meet that deadline, they begin accumulating penalty points. Once someone hits 10 penalty points, they are typically replaced. We do this to ensure that we start on time. Just last year, we had someone drop out of Round 2 even after confirming that they would participate.

Seeing as how we had already pushed back the start of Round 2 by two weeks, it is not unreasonable for us to have moved on to EJ (a very deserving owner in his own right) when I didn’t hear from you after multiple sitemailed.

Moving on certainly wasn’t personal, but we have a system in place to ensure the tournament starts on time and this is communicated very early on (before Round 1, even). Happy to take feedback as to how to improve the system going forward but unless EJ is willing to give up the spot (feel free to reach out to him directly) I wouldn’t feel right forcing him out after he really came through by getting all six teams done within a week.

Also, for reference, dippedncrack did not miss the deadline and communicated to me very early on that he had things going on outside of WIS as well and asked me to find someone to help him remain in the tournament. That kind of communication is super helpful for me in these situations. Otherwise, it’s a black box.

it doesn't change the fact that I'm here with my teams by the deadline. I've violated no rules. if you don't let me in I want a full refund for all 12 teams and my $15 back. This is a total and completely backwards way to run a league. You wait until someone actually misses the deadline before replacing them.

I deserve my money back here. I've violated no rules. Please refund me asap.

And I absolutely do take it personally. Y'all helped other owners out who actually did miss the deadline, but for me I'm replaced before ever getting a chance to get my teams in.

By accumulating as many penalty points as you would have (3 * 14 days = 42) you met the criteria to be removed for the sake of the tournament over a week ago. I am generally lenient with those things when people communicate upfront, but you did not.

With regard to a refund, I have no affiliation with WIS and don’t have control over that. You’ll have to talk to them if you want to pursue that.

that's about response i'd expect from someone who runs a league like this.

I could care less about the points. its about playing out the games.

bothways I understand your frustration but taking it out on ozomatli is not right. You accumulated the penalty points required to be replaced.
