was just playing around with some numbers trying to determine what DeGrom's 2018 season will look like in the SIM. Figuring he'll be priced somewhere around $50,000+ per inning pitched and will cost in the $11,000,000 range for his 217 frames. Any other ideas?

What will it cost to make a rotation out of the 2018 Cy Young finalists? For instance DeGrom, Scherzer, Nola, Snell, Verlander. Right around $50 million? Maybe $50 - $52 neighborhood.

You think it’s that high? What was Arrieta pre-salary explosion. Probably a little less than that.

Guys like the '15 Greinke and Arrieta came up as pretty good comps when I was noodling around with DeGrom '18.

Greinke and Arrieta are better. Best comp I saw was 2013 Kershaw. OAV, BB/9 and HR/9 will all be about the same between them, and the corresponding + stats should come out similar. My best guess is DeGrom will cost in the range of $10M.

How much will Mikolas cost? Not Cy Young numbers, but 18-4, 2.83, 1.07whip was way more than expected, coming over from Japan...

200 innings, .7hr/9, 1.3bb/9

His ERC is 2.73 and he otherwise lines up pretty well with 2016 Masa Tanaka so that's about where I'd guess.
