Why do people buy ads?
It’s funny you ask as there is frequently not a lot of correlation between ads and revenues. It is very difficult to prove many times. Sometimes it works great and saves companies...see Subway and Taco Bell. Other times it’s a complete waste of $$$. One of my clients is a major restaurant chain they ceased their $500k per year sponsorship program (advertising during sports shows) and there was zero impact on revenues.
You don’t see very many if any ads for Amazon, Google, HP, MSFT. They are well known products. You see competing products fight like Samsung and Apple phones or Verizon vs Sprint and a ton of drug companies pushing their products.
HRC outspent Trump by a significant margin and still lost. Both were well known and I would argue he beat her in debates although that is purely subjective. I for example don’t know one person whose vote was swayed one way or the other via ads.
