FYI - the following question came up regarding teammates from your nominated player's team.

The rule states that you cannot take teammates from your nominated player's team, which is true. But, if somebody else nominates a player who also played for that same team, and you draft the player from that same year, then you may take his teammates.

The idea behind the new rule is NOT to prevent you from taking his teammates, but to force you into thinking differently with your nominated player (by eliminating an advantage you have by nominating a guy with great teammates). If somebody else nominates a player who happens to play on that same team, everybody else has a near equal shot of drafting that season for that player.

Just need offensive players now. Four spots left.
Schwarze we have had plenty of players that I find to be offensive. "Just saying"

Cal Ripken Jr - just to muddy the water a bit

I will give it to the end of the week before I update everything for the draft. Sometimes, people want to make changes after seeing all of the picks... heck I may even change out my pick.

BY the way, we filled this league in under 24 hours.

Gonna be some kind of glut of 1B, SS, 3B seasons in there with those guys and no DH. Probably not possible for everyone to have at least one of them as a true bench player. Banks played more seasons at 1B, as did Carew, and Kuhel never played anywhere else basically. And Ripken has a bunch of 3B years. And most people will still need a 2B.

Fun times.

On second thought. . . . . give me SP Doyle Alexander.

Final answer. :)

I don't know... It seams kind of obvious to me, with all of these players that can play multiple positions & no true 2B other than Carew, who I consider a 1B? Also, who would you play at SS when you have both Ripken & Banks? Wouldn't it make sense to have a DH? Or maybe not, like I said - I don't know... What do you think?

I wouldn't like to play players out of position, like Ripken in the outfield or Banks at catcher, to fill out a lineup?

I think it's part of the challenge to not wind up with a $4M bench player.

Not changing the rule after the fact. I'm pretty sure no DH is the reason slanted took Ripken

Agreed. Last time we also had a couple dead-weight pitchers who sucked up salary ... and just plain sucked, too. I think part of the challenge is maximizing effective salary somehow, but we all end up with some albatrosses.
