So I took on a rebuild in Smith with Villanova and switched to a FB offense just because I have never done it and am curious about it.

I obviously do not have the correct team for it currently, but I've played it anyway just to see if I can figure out optimal distro's and what works/ doesnt work.

So far Ive learned that I need good PER shooters, and it seems I especially need good FT shooters. Am also guessing speed is a really good thing to have as well. What about LP, is it helpful to have scorers down in the post or are they wasted?

Anyone have good tips on recruits to look for? I hate m2m but am going to run that defense as well.

ATH and SPD first....everything else second.

You don't need good per with FB. Take a look at mfmyers Dickinson teams.

In fact, FB is the worst offense to invest into 3 pt shooting vs other attributes like ath or speed.

And don't forget about Stamina!

Interesting, thanks. Am I right on FT's though? I seem to be getting to the line a bunch and my current team sucks at FTs so I am losing out on points.

So if I do have good 3 point shooters should I not bother setting them high on 3's or do I want them driving the ball most of the time?

Yeah you get to the line the most in FB so FT shooting is key. However GETTING to the line even more important and that's where the ATH comes in.

You should still shoot 3s to keep the other team honest but you don't need to go crazy with them IMO.

Another question, whats the difference between uptempo and just normal tempo? Isnt normal tempo already kind of fast paced?

I wouldn't purposely not shoot 3s. The FB synergizes real well with high speed/high perimeter teams. Tired teams not only foul alot but their defense suffers as well, shooting a bunch of 3's vs a tired defense is a solid strategy.

More shots. More Fatigue.

I don't know for sure but I think FB at normal has more shots than the other offenses but it's not a ton more.

The fouling is a bigger benefit when running uptempo FB than the increase in 3pt efficiency.

Get a couple guys on the other team to foul out and fatigue is an even bigger issue. It just snowballs from there. It is THE reason to run FB.

It's a solid plan, and maybe even the optimal plan, but it isn't the only plan.

Unless FB somehow causes more offensive turnovers, aren't they one and the same?
