I'm not trying to get in a religious debate here, but more about honor. Our founding fathers believed that you couldn't have a successful country without God. This created moral absolutism. We lost this many years ago. Whether you believe in God or not is your choice, but our country has no values left to hold anyone accountable. Our morals blow where ever the wind takes them and we're paying the price for it.
Our founding fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence by citing 27 biblical violations of Great Britain. Thomas Jefferson called the bible "the cornerstone for American liberty" and put it in our schools. We eliminated God from the equation of American life, thus eliminating the reason this nation first began. Of the 55 men who formed our constitution, 52 were active members of their church. Founding father Noah Webster could literally quote the bible chapter and verse. James Madison said, "We've staked our future on our ability to follow The Ten Commandments with all our heart". In his farewell address, Washington said, "You can't have national morality apart from religious principle, " and it's true 'Cause right now we have nearly 150,000 kids carrying guns to these war zones we call public schools. In the '40's and '50's student problems were chewing gum and talking. In the '00's, rape and murder are the trend. Abe Lincoln said, "The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation will be the philosophy of the government of the next".
Once again, I am not trying to force religion on anyone, but by eliminating it we have produced leaders such as Clinton and Trump. Our country has lost its values and principles.
