I thought the Pats got screwed on the PI calls on Jackson too and there was no call on Dorsett (didn't matter). Pats overcame it. Saints got the ball first in OT and squandered their shot. Shame on them not the refs.

Valid point about the Saints in OT Boris, however the N.O. supporters point is that in theory there wouldn't have been an OT. Their theory is that with the 1st down in hand via the properly called penalty, the N.O. offense would have milked the clock for 3 more plays bringing the game clock down to under 30 seconds prior to the FG attempt putting them in the lead. Thus (in this theory) the Rams wouldn't have had time for their last second game tying FG.

That's likely all valid, too. BUT it (obviously) assumes the Saints kicker makes that last FG attempt-------just as he did with over a minute left.
We all know it's a completely different kick, so................... it was however in front of a HOME crowd in the home stadium, without any adverse conditions, so......... it's a fairly likely bet.

yes, the refs made some awful calls or non-calls, but the Chiefs and the Saints had plenty of other opportunities to win their games. They couldn't . That is on them, not the refs.

And the Chiefs got screwed on the Roughing the Passer call and the Hogan catch. And the coin flip. Refs were equal opportunity screwers in that game.

One thing is very clear. The officials calls or non calls have become way way too important in games. Calls should NOT be deciding games.
That should be the players role......... on any given sunday (or Saturday or thursday. or Monday)......making PLAYS that determine the outcome.

These days, more often than not, it's the officials DECISIONS that decide the game. That is one of several reasons the NFL faces some difficult times going forward.
Many long time fans will lose more and more interest as the game becomes less and less actual FOOTBALL!

Hogan catch? It was a catch, LOL. And the one they overturned was a catch too. You do agree that the calls on Jackson were flimsy at best and led to two KC TDs. Point is calls go both ways but strong teams overcome them. The Saints just had to do what the Pats did but Brees choked and threw an INT.

I think both should have been catches or neither should have. I do agree with that and the refs did not cost the Chiefs the game.
