But should the state not want the Company to have the best possible board? Why are they regulating this? Doesn’t make sense.
many things state and federal governments do don't make sense.

You assume there isn't ONE qualified woman?
there are many qualified women, but why should the state get to tell a privately held corporation who has to sit on its board? Other than "because they can" you haven't given an answer to that question.

Yes, just because a state has the legal authority to do it doesn't make it justified.

And it's not whether there are "qualified" women... it's whether they are the MOST qualified.

Affirmative policies have nothing to do with seeking the most qualified, only the most representative.

Companies shouldn't even have to hire the most qualified. People have the right to be stupid in America. If a company wants to hire a less qualified candidate, they will have to face the repercussions, but they have that right. Jerry Brown and his crew are idiots. I'm so glad Stacey Abrams didn't win here in GA. That would be a nightmare. We would become the next CA.

By the way Wylie, it is confusing to me as to why you identify as a democrat. You seem WAY too logical to be associated with them. I understand why you wouldn't want to be a republican. They are a bunch of idiots as well, but a democrat? Seriously? Doesn't make sense to me.

Labels are a little misleading. Wylie strikes me as a moderate. There are (seemingly) not a lot of moderate Democrats left, but that party still has center-left wing to it.

You, strikeout, call yourself a libertarian. That, (and I've been a libertarian/classic liberal for 30 years) by definition is not anything close to a Republican. You shouldn't want to be called a Rebublican.

See, labels are a little misleading.

I definitely don't consider myself a republican.

we all have our biases.......mine to be honest is when i identify as a democrat i feel like im on the side that has a heart and wants to make things better.
i think of the republicans as the group wants to keep an apartheid type of class system.......where things like govt promoted inclusion threaten their hope to keep it like it was in the 50s.......and coddle nazis and crackers while bringing hell upon descendants of slaves who are still ****** about it and still see it happening.
so...being a dem for me is being joyfully imperfect but revering science and the highly educated and sometimes having guests in the house you dont want there but living the creed that we are all brothers and sisters and being good samaratins should include political solutions.

Oh, OK. Good for you.

I agree with dino absolutely about how we all have our biases. Mine to be honest is to have the government restrict itself to what power the Constitution actually grants it and, as for the rest, to please stay the living **** out of my life. Thank you and Amen.

When I think of the democratic party, I see a party who really doesn't care about people. They care about power. The more support they have from each "group", the more power they have. They enslave people through their policies instead of preaching freedom of choice and self-accountability. I don't believe that all democrats feel this way. I feel that people such as Tang truly feel compassion for people, but the leaders of the party most certainly only care about power.

To say that they are the party of science is very misleading. They, like the republicans, only care about science when it suits their agenda.
