I watched the first 30 minutes and decided I had seen enough. Trump had some good moments...as he often does when he actually tries to act Presidential. Sadly, he doesn't try very often.

I do wish I would have seen the Abrams rebuttal. That could have had some comedic value to it.

Abrams was really good. She's probably one of the best speakers on the left right now.

OK. I'll need to watch her rebuttal online. Actually, I'll watch Trump's entire speech and then her's back-to-back to get a feel for how on-point (or not) she was.

She is a very articulate speaker and has a compelling backstory. I found it very unbecoming of her to talk about working across party lines for the American people and then to immediately jump into bashing the other side. Either you want to be civil and work with your fellow senators or you don't. Get off of the fence.

A politician being hypocritical? Who would have ever thought?

Side note: It's refreshing to see someone like Abrams, who has a lisp, becoming a prominant speaker. She sounds similar to me and that's kinda empowering.

I thought her clarification that Dems don't want open borders was good, as was her line "I don't want Trump to fail"

I think the people bashing Sanders for giving a seperate speech are wrong.

Didn't hear Trump's speech. Have no desire to hear Trump's speech. I was willing to listen to Abrams because I have respect for Abrams.

I only watched it because I was promised news, drama, or bipartisanship... turned it off halfway through the immigration section because it was same old same old.

I was entertained. I laughed at AOC.

Democrat reactions were funny.

Just when do you reckon we'll get that 1st payment towards the wall from Mexico. That IS what we were promised right? Mexico would pay for the "wall". I say put a wall around Trump's butt so I don't have to see it every time he's pictured golfing.

I don't think I have ever watched more than a couple of minutes of any SOTU address. As far as I can tell, I haven't missed much.

They were funny. There were times they didn't quite know how to react.
