Let's say you are on two guys. Both you have been on since the beginning of recruiting and have showed roughly the same amount of interest in IE: AP's, Home Visits, Campus Visits. Both also have been offered scholarships. It is the last cycle before recruiting ends. Which one is going to sign?

The one that get the dice roll in Recruiting. I'll even say the one who has the most dice roll players but that is just a observation.

Let's say you are on two guys... Wait I thought this was hypothetical.

two valid answers here:

1) whichever one is worse (values the attention more, what I probably really think)

2) whichever one you don't want

Assuming you mean you only have one opening, I would think it would be completely random. And I think the effort doesn't really factor in either.

I think it would be similar to a D2 coach with one opening, targeting two Early signers, leading on both (no matter how wide of a margin), and the first cycle of RS2 processes. The game is just gonna pick one based on whichever one it decides. Maybe it's the actually recruit that chooses to sign before the other recruit.

Every player has a number in his URL. The lower number player will get the dice roll first. If you're the only coach on both guys, you'll get the lower number player.

Interesting. What does the number represent?

It's just an index number, like a Social Security number. Randomly assigned.

I don't know what happens if you have one kid in a dice situation and the other is a lock to join you. My guess is they do all the dice rolls first, then run a second cycle for The Sure Things, then a third go-round to fill everyone's open slots with cruddy leftover players. But that's just a guess.

The index number was my thought overall. That makes sense. I guess that's what I meant by random

Random?? Did you guys just say something was decided by random? Don't you remember - absolutely nothing is decided randomly in this game.

Ahhhh yes. Random is real!! But don't tell anyone here that! It leads to 10 page threads of nonsense by all of us!

What about this one....

At D2..... an early signer that you lead on, with no competition. And a whenever signer that you lead on, with no competition. Only one opening. And RS2 begins.

If the whenever guy decides he's looking to sign on that first cycle of RS2, is there any way possible that he signs before the early player?

I feel pretty comfortable about what I feel would happen, but I'm curious what others think about it
