Yeah, that’s dumb. No one goes to the McDonalds on main st instead of the one on 3rd ave because Darrell is the grill cook on main.

MLB players are the product. We watch games because of them.
wait...Darrell is at the Main St McDonalds now???
I know where I'm having lunch tomorrow.

I've missed Darrell.

This is becoming lunacy. The product is the game. People watch the game to see if their team wins or not. If the game is 15-3, no one is watching. The TV's are being turned off. People are leaving the stadium. The players are the means of production. The more competitive the game, the better the product. Uncompetitive teams don't have many spectators regardless of who is on the field. The only difference between sports and other businesses is that we get to see the product being made and there is entertainment in watching it being made.

The Rays have no fan base because they suck. They have (have had) good players, but nobody still went to the games because the product (the games) sucked. It is not complicated to understand. People want to know how individual players perform for the sole fact that it impacts the win/loss column.
Yeah, sorry, I disagree. I regularly watch entire Angel games even though I dont care about the Angels because of Trout. If I catch a Yankee game on TV, I’ll stick around through the commercials for the next half inning if Judge or Stanton are coming up to bat. I probably saw Scherzer and Verlander throw 70 or 80 innings each last season, and I give zero ***** about the Nationals and Astros.

The players are the product. If we replaced them all with non-prospect minor league players, the games would be just as competitive and almost no one would watch.
In Boston we sell out every game and ratings on TV are high and the team travels well. People root for the laundry as much as the players. Hell they boo Price. If Betts leaves next season the Sox will still draw the same. Maybe my team is the minority but it’s the team too not just the players.

Please give a brief summary of how you feel when you have time just for clarity in case we have someone visit the thread who is new or doesn't visit much.

I'll start of with America First. And to that point:
  1. Mexico is sending drugs over and criminals. The country is on our southern border and is run by cartels. If you Google Mexican resorts you'll see that even they are no longer very safe. Building the wall is the beginning but we also need a strategy to stabilize our neighbors in Latin America so that they feel safe at home and don't have to migrate to the US. I am not sure how you deal with the cartels but they need to be eliminated.
  2. Israel is our only true ally and democracy in the Middle East. We should be supporting them full stop because Europe remains antisemitic and doesn't care about that small country (size of NJ). All these BDS movements, also perpetuated by our Democrat friends in Congress are not helping and if you again use Google you will see that Jews are in fact moving away from the Blue party because of this. I had lunch with a client from NY last week and he said that his wife and her family, lifelong Democracts are moving away from that party. Although only half to the GOP and the other half to the Libertarians. My parents did the same as did many of their friends. We need to continue to support Israel despite what the Democrats say. Middle East is an unstable chaotic mess and Israel is a necessary ally and eye in the sky.
  3. China is bigger threat than Russia with their continual theft of tech, trade wars, sending over thousands of students who take the spots of Americans because they pay double the tuition fee and then going back to China. This is less a military war but more a culture war. We need to win it.

Other than those three examples I am not really pro American intervention. And tang, honestly, debating you is pointless. With all due respect you're just too uneducated and inexperienced.

1. Classic xenophobia and racism aside, Mexico is an issue. Not sure how we handle it but interventions are not the answer. Keep in mind that the only reason Central America is this way is because of our own military policies.

2. How do we 'support' Israel? BDS is wrong but Jews are still majority dem. We need to get the hell out of the middle east. Try to use diplomacy to keep nukes away from Iran and Pakistan.

3. China can spend itself to death and collapse as far as I care.

Unless we are attacked, we should not intervene in any global conflicts aside from humanitarian efforts. Even then we should be peaceful. We need to stop creating new enemies to fight.

Why? The border agents say otherwise. Are you smarter than our border agents? It works very well in Israel.

No they don't. And even if they did, it's irrelevant. The CMS caught people going over the current fence with a rope and ladder and under it with a tunnel last week. Wall don't stop that. Wall also don't stop the people entering through VISA and overstaying. The wall would, presumably, stop SOME illegal immigration but it certainly isn't worth 60 bil. Also hurts environment and creates flooding. Tech is much better. Also, the asylum process would be basically impossible, which sucks for many from central America.

Also, Israel is not the US. Wall is not as long, not for same purposes, different geography, etc. Every problem that I just mentioned doesn't really apply to Israel for some reason or another.

You should watch the Completely Nutty News instead.
They don't even pretend to be unbiased any more. It's like a glorified TMZ show.
You'll be entertained, no matter the topic.
