My error

Topic of the day: The minimum wage

I'll keep this brief because I need to work, so my comments may be a bit misleading as though won't be developed thoroughly, but minimum wage hikes are bad for many reasons. I will list two. Number one is that they kill jobs. This is a fact. States with higher minimum wages have higher unemployment. Number two is that, like any government regulation, they are especially harmful for small businesses. They destroy capitalism and create corporatism. Walmart can absorb minimum wage hikes much easier than small businesses making it easier to crush competition and give major powers a greater monopoly within their industry.

Let's hear the viewpoints and have fun. Keep things civil, you idiots.

I do NOT support raising the minimum wage.

I don't believe any American responsible enough to keep a 40-hour / week job should be below the poverty line.
Of course, since the poverty line varies from place-to-place, the minimum wage should also vary accordingly.

(FWIW, I have suggest legalized marijuana to strikeout as tomorrow's topic. I'd love to hear some of the misguided reasons why people feel it would be OK to have more impaired people on our roads and workplaces, other than increase tax and regulation money.)
