Long story short.

Before I was forced to retire in 2012, (disability - I'm a long ways away from retirement age) I had started studying French with the hopes of qualifying for translator certification. It's a big deal for a résumé. Long before I could take the examination, my health collapsed but I was so used to the habit that I kept it up (the studying.) All day is an exaggeration but I probably spend 15-20 hours a week reading European newspapers, 19th C. literature, etc. If push came to shove, it could be a marketable skill and about the only thing my poor body could take at this point.

We've both made a life for ourselves rather than give up because of the hardship so it's not unfortunate. Things didn't go exactly as planned but I have no regrets. I'd be willing to bet you don't as well.

I look at it like this, if China were poised to attack us, we would max out resources to defend ourselves and survive the attack. We wouldn't worry about budgets or debt or the deficit. We would put the entire country to work making tanks and planes and bombs and soldiers.

Climate change is that threat.

Of course, he does believe in a 99% tax bracket, that people should be allowed to pick a different gender every day, and that the Earth is coming to an end because the temperature has risen 8/10 of 1 degree in the last 139 years, so maybe he believes that nonsense too.

Topic of the day: It's already began, but the it is the Green New Deal

Anyone dumb enough to try defending it needs to explain how they are paying for it.

1. I know climate change is happening but no one knows what % is man made vs. nature.
2. I am happy to recycle and do all we can but we also need to be logical. Burning coal is bad but if a family in Russia needs to do so to keep their children warm and heat their food, they will not GAF about the environment.
3. Volcanoes are a major threat as is methane from cow farts. We cannot cure it all just in the US and Western Europe.

That Green New Deal needs to be a 100-year plan and feasible fiscally. I am tired of the Left's idiocy of having the "rich" pay for it. AOC is brainless.

We actually do have an understanding of the difference between naturally occurring, long-range climate change and man-made climate change.
