Haha. There are actually a bunch of people on the left that think she's a dumbass. MSNBC did a segment where they talked about how she was going to lead to Trump winning reelection.

Nah, she's dumb. Her comments are not that of ignorance but of stupidity. I can live with ignorance to an extent. We are all ignorant in areas. That's why they all have advisors. Stupidity is a different beast. I'm not saying this because I disagree with her politically. There are plenty of smart people that I disagree with and plenty of dumb people that share most of the same ideologies as me.

That's a little harsh, lol. I'd call her naïve at this point.

That's the thing. I don't see her as naive. Her comments aren't of a naive nature. They lack intellectual cognizance. A person who is naive still typically has the ability to think critically. She seems to lack this ability. As i've said, we're all ignorant/naive in many areas. That's okay. No one expects our leaders to be experts in every field of study. That's why they have advisors.

Maybe i'm looking at this all wrong. I'm serious about this. Maybe she is very strategic about what she says. Maybe she plays the "dumb" card as a publicity stunt. She is in the headlines daily for the simple fact that she says dumb stuff. We've all heard the old adage, "bad publicity is better than no publicity." If she made rational statements they wouldn't create nearly the amount of headlines. Maybe, just maybe she makes these statements to stay in the news.

Rather than quote one of your comments I'll give an answer that covers both. I believe her intellectual capacity is...fine? What I have noticed is that students coming out of both high school and college are not taught how to think critcally anymore. There is also a big difference between concrete and abstract thinking. The last time I saw a study on this, 55%? of the population does not possess the ability to think abstractedly, again because they are never taught the skill. Neither a lack of critical thinking nor abstract thinking points directly towards stupidity, just poor education.

As an aside, I think her comments are, on occasion, very clever.

Fair enough. I'm sticking to my "unbiased" view that she is dumb.

I will say that it is better for her from a character standpoint if she is dumb as opposed to clever with her comments. If she is intentionally making false and misleading statements, it shows a major character flaw. Being dumb isn't a character flaw.

I don't know. It may be a calculated strategy. Propose 100% taxation and if you get it, fine. If you must "moderate your position" by "reaching across the aisle" and "settle" for only 75%, then that's good enough...with 75% being what she was secretly willing to accept in the first place, at least as an intermediate step. It's an effective strategy if it pushes the conversation in directions it never would have gone otherwise. A cornerstone of Marxist strategy is to always demand more than what the central government is willing to give.

Let's hope I'm wrong.

To clarify, I wasn't saying that her policy positions make her stupid. I don't think, within realism, that having extreme political views makes one stupid. I was more of referencing the fact that she constantly misinterprets facts and oftentimes get them flat out wrong. It's simple things that someone of her educational background should never get wrong.

As an aside, I think her political ideology is willfully ignorant but not stupid. As we've talked about before, Karl Marx had extreme, unrealistic views but he was not a stupid person.

She was probably the best speaker in the Cohen hearing today. Brilliant really. Concise. First time ive been really impressed.
