Okay, a little test. Why was the 2nd amendment put in place and why should it not be around today?

I understand gun control reform and what it does. I also understand that what your party typically proposes does nothing to actually fight gun crime. I also understand that their TRUE objective has nothing to do with fighting gun crime. If it did, they would make different proposals. Don't be fooled by the evils of the far left. They want you to think their motives are altruistic. They are not.
Again, if you are referring to banning all guns, only 5% of Americans actually support that and it is even on both sides of the spectrum.

What do you think should be done to stop gun crime? I think common sense reform would help.
Banning any gun is unconstitutional.

Common sense reform isn't a policy. Please explain what that means. I think we should take action to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and those with mental illnesses.

Free child care sounds like a good idea.
It sounds like a great idea until you realize that it's not free. I guess this is yet another thing where you want to steal from the financially successful to pay for it.

im sick of the putrid anti american record on gun control issues by the republican congress...
This is the main one I have an issue with. Gun control, in itself, is anti-American. Our constitution gives us the right for very, very good reasons.
Gun control isn’t anti-American or unconstitutional.
Um, it's both. Our founders put it in place as a resource to fight tyranny against the GOVERNMENT. The GOVERNMENT has no right to take that resource away.

To be clear, keeping guns out of hands of criminals and those with mental illness is not what I'm referring to. Banning guns is what I'm referring to.
Well, gun control isn’t banning all guns. So problem solved.
Banning any guns is unconstitutional. Plus, the guns that are targeted by the left are used for a very small percentage of all gun crimes. If the left really cared about preventing gun crimes, their focus would be on hand guns. But preventing gun crimes is not their goal.
So mental health and background checks, and gun safety tests don't prevent gun crimes?

We aren't saying to ban guns.

How much would it cost?

Child care is extremely valuable for people in poverty, I would fully support this policy.

Yes, I agree with your first lines.

You might not saying to ban guns, but plenty in your party have called for that on numerous occasions. Remember the whole "assault weapon" ban. "Assault weapons" account for a very, very small percentage of gun crimes. Most gun violence is committed with handguns.

Here's the thing, Tang. This is what the left seems to miss. The only reason people have jobs is because of the rich. The government produces nothing. We shouldn't punish people for taking risks and being successful. Guess what, if your newspaper doesn't turn a profit, you still get paid. Guess who doesn't get paid, the investors of your newspaper. They carry all of the risk. We shouldn't punish them when they provide a service that does happen to turn a profit.

Here's the other thing the left misses, Bill Gates and the Walton family has done far more for humanity than someone like Mother Teresa. Bill Gates and Sam Walton have provided an income for millions of people. They are already doing their part.

Socialism is by far the most immoral economic system.

Yeah, I agree with you on that second part. You aren't debating with 'my party'. You are debating with me.

What would stop gun violence?
