Bob, check out laser eye surgery. It is not covered by insurance and the costs have gone down to as low as $400 per eye. Why? Capitalism and no insurance companies/administrators in between. More doctors got into the business so supply increased and prices went down. Capitalism works but when you have insurance companies in the mix, they ruin it.
Yeah, and now the new Lasik SMILE surgery is causing massive problems for people post surgery. Suicide rates are skyrocketing. MANY procedures fail and have caused very real, very permanent damage to people. THAT is what deregulation gets you if it's not done right.

Check out this story of a very prominent Detroit morning host. It's appalling.

Doctors are capitalists too, my friend.
never said they weren't. But if making money is their main reason for going into medicine, not sure I want them as my doctor. Notice I didn't say oen of their reasons, I said their main reason.

I hear you but it is a primary reason many times.

I don't doubt it, but I don't want that person for my doctor.

That would happen either way. Look at all the malpractice suits. 99% of these surgeries go fine.
