I just noticed something. When you go to RPI ranking by team and sort by prestige it puts all of the teams in order. The question i have is if you are the top A+ prestige does that mean you are the highest prestige overall. For example i coach St. Louis in Phelan. I have a B+ prestige. When i sort by prestige i am the top B+ prestige listed. There are other B+ prestiges and alot of them come before me in the alphabet so im assuming not only is prestige Ranked by letter but also in order when you sort by prestige.

Yes, my understanding is that the RPI order is the order from top to bottom, so the first B+ team (in descending order) is the closest to A-.

If that’s the case it’s new since the update. Prior to 3.0 if you sorted by prestige you’d get a different order of A+ teams each time (using A+ as the example).

It is my understanding that shoe is correct.

I’m still standing by it’s not true. Using D2 Crum as an example the highest A+ team listed has a four year history of: S16, S16, NC (game loss), 2nd round. The second highest A+ listed is: FF, E8, NC, E8.

There is zero chance the first team had a stronger four year resume than the second team, yet they are listed higher.

Similarly in D1 Crum, the A+ team listed second had the weakest resume of the top 6 A+ teams (I stopped at 6 because I was getting bored).

It's actually true for Division 1 teams. Whether it applies to D-2 and D-3, haven't really checked it out.

For the heck of it I sent a ticket just to double-check and CS's response was "all teams within a certain prestige grade are ordered randomly."

Well I can tell you then each column when you click on the title will sort in descending/ascending order when viewing almost all pages (including those just showing grades) ever since 3.0 has rolled out.

UCLA in Phelan isn't at the top of the list every season due to randomness...

Also I doubt that post season success is the only measure of how prestigious a program is (likely the same methodology used in the projection score is used to grade any given season)

If you factor in baseline prestige and possible players drafted, which I wasn't going to take the time to do, you can see there is clearly a trend.

Being national champions and/or making a deep tournament run could possibly give you an extra boost. For instance, a trip to the Elite 8 might be worth more than just 3 tournament wins, where as, a team that wins 1 tournament game, might be valued as slightly less than a win. Because of the exact value of early entries, we don't know what the exact value of each tournament win is equivalent to.

Also, the bottom A+ team in Phelan, has 2 Elite 8 appearances and a trip to the championship game in the past 4 years, so clearly it doesn't apply to D-2, as I had previous stated.

Looks alphabetical on mine. Duke is #1 in Wooden but I think Illinois would have the higher A+ prestige.

Pretty sure D1 wasn't random for the past year or so. Probably back to the advent of v3.0
Looked today and they're now alphabetical. A couple days ago they weren't.

My Arizona-Rupp team jumped from 7th to 5th after 4 were drafted last season. It was kind of fun to follow the progress.

Same for me regarding the order changing. In Phelan I checked right after the NT Championship to see where I ranked among the other A+'s and it was in the order Wiz posted, checked yesterday and it was alphabetical.

That's the kind of BS that pi**es me off with this game. They go ahead and fix that, not that it needed to be fixed, but apparently not enough time to work on the other stuff, that's more important, like the 10 team consider list.
