I don't think it should. Very dangerous industry.

I'm probably going to surprise a lot of people by saying that YES, prostitution should be legalized.
It would be safer both health-wise and physically (no out-of-control customers) for the workers.
It would be safer both health-wise and physically (no out-of-control pimps or madams) for the customers.
It would be a windfall of revenue for the Government - licenses, health check-ups, taxes, etc.
I believe it would lower sexual assaults if there were a legal outlet for some who commit them.
It would provide a better life financially for those "forced" into doing it (because of no other work).
It's going to continue, as has always been the case, whether Legal or not, so why not make it safer and more financially beneficial for everyone.
Besides I've never understood how porn is Legal and prostitution is not, when porn is essentially prostitution on film.

Yes porn, by definition, is prostitution.

Is it not legal in Vegas? I would let the states decide.

Topic of the day: Should prostitution be legalized? (Suggested by Tang)

Yes, literally by definition, porn is prostitution. This is indisputable. I'm not sure why you always argue. It is a fact. It's like arguing whether or not the sky is blue.

Prostitution: the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment.

There’s clearly a difference between porn and prostitution.

It’s legal to make porn in all 50 states. Prostitution is legal in a handful of counties in one state.

If porn is prostitution, who is the John?

Read the definition. People are having sex for payment when they make pornography. The legality of the two is irrelevant. We have a bunch of conflicting laws on the books. Once again, PEOPLE ARE HAVING SEX FOR PAYMENT. By definition, that is prostitution.

Porn is technically acting? Prostitution is not. But it is the same difference I guess?

As far as the answer to the topic, I agree with you from in a legal manner. Yes. Consenting adults yadda, yadda, yadda. I am against it socially, but I don't believe the government should be the moral police when you have a consensual contract between adults.

It's payment for sex, which is the literal definition of prostitution. They are the same.
3/13/2019 10:42 AM
I guess the most honest way to say it is that pornography is a form of prostitution.
3/13/2019 10:45 AM
It seems like you live in a world that doesn’t allow for subtle distinctions.

You didn’t answer the question, if porn is prostitution, who is the John?

Because, in my opinion, a requisite element of prostitution is a person paying for sex.

Not quite as in Prostitution only one person gets paid and its by the other. In Porn both get paid by a 3rd party.
