This is such a stupid argument. I admit that in the modern era of independently-produced content there exists a gray space in the middle where one could argue that some guys are basically using production as a front for soliciting prostitution, but the reality is that acting doesn't make you a professional at what you do on camera. The definition of a professional baseball player is someone who is paid to play baseball. Charlie Sheen and Kevin Costner have both made movies where a big part of their on-screen work involved pitching baseballs. I've never heard anybody try to claim that they were professional baseball players.

If you're paid to do something on camera what you are is an actor.

Not all porn is "video" or filmed.

There is certainly no prostitution involved in (say) "Penthouse Letters from Readers".

Most would still call the publication "porn".

I would also like to call a distinction between "types" of Prostitution.
Willing is one thing........... compelled is quite another.

Fair enough point by Bob about Penthouse. But if you are being paid to perform sexual acts, whether being videoed or not, it is a form of prostitution by definition.

Also a good point that we need to distinguish between sex slavery and a consensual transaction when discussing making it legal.

But in porn both actors get paid? Who is the prostitute? Both of them?

So Charlie Sheen is a professional baseball player?

Cool.

You repeating that over and over again doesn't make it true.

Prostitution is a specific act. Performing in a movie is a different act. That they share some elements doesn't make them the same.

Porn is technically acting? Prostitution is not. But it is the same difference I guess?
It's payment for sex, which is the literal definition of prostitution. They are the same.
Porn is prostitution, but prostitution is not always porn.

This is a false equivalency.

Prostitution: the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment.

They are being paid to have sex in porn videos. No one watches porn videos for the "acting". They are watching for the sex. When I watch Major League, I am watching a professional actor. When I watch the Braves vs. Phillies I am watching professional baseball players.

Once again, people are watching porn for the sex. People are watching Charlie Sheen for his ability to act.

Yes, they are both being paid to have sex. By definition, they are both prostituting themselves.

You're right. Me saying it doesn't make it true. The definition of prostitution is what makes it true. They are being paid to have sex. That is the definition of prostitution.

WHO'S THE JOHN?!?!

How about the person writing the "erotic" story that ends up published (for a readers "enjoyment" somewhere)?
Is the person penning the words a "prostitute" for spilling his "hot" story?

I have ignored this question because you are trying to change the definition. If you are being paid to have sex, you are a prostitute by definition. I have posted the definition like 10 times already.

No. The person is getting paid to write about sexual activities, not to perform them.
